Fridays and Saturdays the upstairs BBQ, which is basically a raw bar with a do-it-yourself hibachi is open. $21.95 per person with 10% discount if you arrive before 7:00 PM. It's our favorite part of this place!
A totally fun, authentically Korean experience. Take it from someone who lived in Korea for years.
There are bit many restaurants in the entire US where one can enjoy this experience. It's definitely one of Pittsburgh's best kept secrets.
The servers are usually very attentive, but tonight they were slow, taking forever to refill drinks, miso soup, rice, deliver the check, etc.
No matter. The kimchi at this place is THE BEST I've ever eaten. Absolutely delicious. The miso soup is also excellent. The rice is steamed to perfection.
The raw bar has generous amounts of fresh veggies, and ample lettuce for making lettuce wraps. The meat side of the raw bar has ample shrimp, cuttlefish, spare rib meat, chicken bulgogi, and beef bulgogi. I recommend the bulgogi, because it's more flavorful.
If you've never eaten Korean BBQ before, ask the server to tell you how to mix the dipping sauces, and how to get started cooking. It's really simple, they'll gladly show you, and once you see it, you'll easily get the hang of it and have a ball!
If the authentic do-it-yourself stuff intimidates you, the. Just sit downstairs and order off the menu. It's more expensive, but it is even more delicious than the BBQ.
I absolutely love this place. Easily one of the best Asian restaurants in Pennsylvania, and perhaps one of the most authentic Korean BBQs in the US.
