“Best view”
Reviewed 28 May 2014

Went here for the first time for my birthday and was completely blown away. Growing up around Pittsburgh, I see the skyline a lot, but the view from the restaurant takes the cake. Way better than the Lemont down the road.

Prices are very reasonables. Suprisingly they fly their fish fresh in every day, which is incredible. There were so many choices.

Next to the view, the second best part was dessert. The angel food cake grilled cheese is definetely worth saving room for! So delicate and simple, and yet so delicious. Hands down best dessert.

Definetely will be going there again for a special occasion.

“Nice Food, Great Views, Tacky Decor”
Reviewed 18 May 2014

Location: The restaurant is located in an upper level of a luxury apartment building in Mt Washington. This elevation provides for excellent views of the city, downtown Pittsburgh, the rivers and bridges...truly an amazing view. The restaurant has broad, ceiling high glass windows which make this view possible from almost every table in the house, though I recommend requesting a window table.

Atmosphere: There was a variety of age groups in the restaurant, though the majority comprised middle aged and elderly couples. This could be due to the outdated decor which reminded me of an old (70's or 80's) Las Vegas casino, with plastic palm trees, dark carpets, black ceiling, and outdated dining tables/chairs. Even the elevator looks old and could use a touch of the 21st century...and certainly cleaner windows.

Food and Service: The fish is flown in daily, a big plus. The menu has a nice selection of fresh fish, grilled, broiled, etc, some muscles, scallops and shrimp, though they were out of a few selections that we inquired about. The restaurant also serves a few chicken and beef selections. There is a decent selection of appetizers, and deserts. For an appetizer I had the crab cake, which was excellent, and for an entree, I ordered the grilled Bronzino with pickled green, pepper corns, and kalamata olives which was cooked to perfection (crisp on the outside and flaky on the inside) and was a generous portion I took half of it home. The service was average, and there was a young supervisor walking around the tables making sure things were taken care of.

Pricing: appetizers are around $14, entrees between $29 and $45 and deserts less than $10.

Recommendations: I highly recommend this place for first time Pittsburgh visitors, if nothing else, for the incredible views of the city. For the restaurant management, I recommend an urgent remodeling project to bring the space up to date.

“Lovely view, great food (especially for this gluten-free traveler)”
Reviewed 14 May 2014

You enter a rather unprepossessing building on the Mount in Pittsburgh and travel up in an elevator (kind and courteous valets are ready to assist guests). You exit to a room with friendly staff who guide you to your table; most every table has a fabulous view of Pittsburgh. I informed the server about my inability to have gluten and she promptly walked me through the menu, told me they have gluten-free crabcakes available, and answered all my questions. She even brought me some gluten-free rolls they had available, warmed with butter. I had a great simple salad, the perfect size, and then the crab cake appetizer which was plated gorgeously. Did I mention the wonderful wine list? Highly highly recommend this place (oh, and highly recommend reservations too :)

“Great fish and amazing view!”
Reviewed 13 May 2014

Last time we were there (April 2014), we waited an extra half hour to have the corner window seat. WELL WORTH IT. The view was amazing and the food was incredible. Great restaurant for an anniversary meal.

“Best Crab Cakes Outside Maryland”
Reviewed 30 April 2014 via mobile

I consider myself somewhat of a crab cake snob. It's difficult to find really good crab cakes outside the Chesapeake Bay Area. Monterey Bay, however, is the exception to the rule. Big chunks of lump crab meat that lack enough filler to hold them together - then broiled to perfection. Had the white chocolate mousse for dessert, which was not as remarkable as the crab cakes, but wasn't bad either. All-in-all a very nice experience.
