We've been to Wholey's Market many times over 10 years or so without ever having lived closer than 100 miles away. The Strip District is a Pittsburgh destination in itself, but Wholey's is our favorite not only for the wide selections of fresh meats and fish, but for the stalls located inside or in front of the market where seasonal fast food specialties are offered for sale to passers-by. Yesterday's 2 lobster rolls for $10 were incredible (in spite of very low expectations for this area and low price)--as good or better as any we've had in coastal Maine or Martha's Vineyard. We will continue to shop and eat at Wholey's.
