“Good sandwiches, poor service”
Reviewed 3 September 2013

This place is famous for the Rothlessburger (named for the Steelers Quarterback). It is a HUGE sandwich of pork sausage, hamburger, fried eggs, onions and peppers on a loooong sub roll. It takes forever to cook and serve so be patient. The Philly cheese steak sandwich is excellent.
But the service is slow at best, and when I've been there, I've seen walk-in's get served before those who were seated (or it seemed that way). Free refills on drinks. Prices are good, but the big sandwich is a little on the high side, but it is BIG. And Good!

“Just had Peppi's for lunch yesterday!”
Reviewed 2 August 2013

Def a place all tourists should try! Peppi's subs are not for the health conscious, but they are good! Bring your appetite, and the price is great! Plenty of variety for everyone, I love the south philly, but there are so many to chose from! Several locations throughout Pittsburgh, so you can pretty much find one close to anywhere you may be staying in Pittsburgh. We have gone here several times, even ordering their subs for work lunches! Def will be back!

“Better than any other in Pittsburgh”
Reviewed 2 July 2013

Our last visit to Pittsburgh we tried the other sandwich shop in Pittsburgh. We were unimpressed but the sandwiches there. We heard some local say try "Peppi's". We went and ordered a mix of sandwiches (hot and cold) I personally had the Siegfried and it truly was amazing. My whole family raved about how tasty their sandwiches were and the fries were awesome!! Their bread/rolls are fresh. Service is great too! Great place for lunch!

“Great Cheesesteaks”
Reviewed 7 May 2013

Peppi's is a great place to stop in for a cheese-steak. What's nice is the variety of sandwiches. They have everything from a standard cheese-steak, to a full menu specialty, vegetarian, and chicken options. Even their Italian hoagie is delicious!

“Love it!”
Reviewed 2 November 2012

Went to peppi's on Penn Ave in Wilkinsburg twice. The food was good, and the first time the service was good. The second time, not so much. The man who answers the phone and takes your order is not very friendly or welcoming. It was me and my wife's first time there and we were asking questions about different foods, and when i specifically asked about the italian meat, he said with a real nasty attitude "what you never heard of italian".. They could have just been a little more nicer and more welcoming. Also the second time we went, the cook was yelling at the guy who takes orders, it was a full house, and honestly if the food wasn't so good, I would think about not coming back!
