“Great Location”
Reviewed 28 May 2014

This hotel was very clean, the staff professional and the location was great! Only negative was that the price of the hotel should more than compensate for the parking charge. It is a big city and when they have parking it should be included in the price.

Our staff here prides itself on performing in a professional manner. By knowing our product is clean and always ready for your arrival creates a fantastic working enviroment. Being in such a desired location has not allowed us to purchase a parking lot but to lease one in front of the hotel for our guests use and convienence. Due to that fact the parking charge is seperate from your room rate and always kept at the lowest possible price allowed. We thank you for taking the time to comment on your stay with us and look forward to another arrival in the future.

Great location for Pirates fans! Clean hotel. Good breakfast. Our only issues was that we only had 1 towel for 3 people. None were brought after we asked. We ended up taking towels from the pool to use.

Go Buccos! Our most sincere apologies for an obvious disruption in customer service. Our staff always aimes high to respond to guest's requests for additional amenities quickly. Although the request never should have been needed if your suite was properly stocked. Thanks for staying with us and look forward to your next visit.

This was a nice, clean hotel with large rooms across the street from PNC Park. I chose this hotel as I was in the city to see the Blue Jays take on the Pirates. It's also close to a number of attractions in the city such as the Andy Warhol Museum, the Duquesne Incline and the Strip District. I stayed the same weekend as the Pittsburgh Marathon which made hotels across the city expensive. This hotel was not as expensive as others in the downtown area.

Room Tip: The hotel is situated next to I-279. You will hear the noise of traffic.

PNC Stadium has better views than most baseball fields, and the Springhill Suites is right across the street from the ball park. Soho restaurant is in the same building and they have wonderful salads. Try the BV Cabernet. It is scrumptious! The staff at the Springhill are very nice and accommodating.

This hotel was excellent! The location is realy awesome - right across from PNC park - you couldn't ask for better. I wanted to make sure we got this hotel so I reserved it 8 months ahead of time in September 2013 and I wasn't disappointed. The front desk manager even emailed ahead of time to let us know about the Pittsburgh marathon and how it may affect our travellings to get in the hotel. I thought this was a great gesture. I emailed back with my directions to the hotel and the same manager promptly emailed me back with suggestions.
The room service was excellent and the bed was so comfortable with free wi-fi! love it and I am looking forward to returning!

Pittsburgh is a picturesque and vibrant city, with its banana-colored bridges, breathtaking inclines, statement-making skyline, shimmering rivers and rich cultural and sporting traditions. It has great shopping, a cool restaurant scene and eclectic neighborhoods. I’m puzzled then, as to why its hotel market is, what I guess I would call… kind of bland. Lesser cities have trendier options from which to choose, and although Kimpton (my favorite) is building a hotel here that will open later in 2014, until then, there isn’t much beyond the Residence/Hampton/Hyatt House chains (and one very pricey Fairmont), at least in and adjacent to downtown.

I decided on the SpringHill Suites based on other reviews, and though I would still peg this brand at being more at home in a suburban, mall-like setting, I do have some good things to say. Its location just can’t be beat for MLB and NFL games. It affords great accessibility to the handful of restaurants on the North Shore, as well as to the broader array of places on the northern edge of downtown… just walk across the bridge. It is dependably new-ish and clean;and there’s free wifi and plenty of space in the room. I liked the fitness room in the basement.

Just one ding: parking. It is $19/day, which is not out of bounds for a location like this. However, the lot, though it appears to be quite large, is actually quite tight, since only a portion of it is for hotel guests. If you have an SUV, good luck navigating through it, and if you head out on a weekend night, you may not have a space waiting for you when you return.

Of course when working in a hotel you must enjoy representing your city and you painted such a perfect picture of where we work, live and play. For being a downtown location we certainly offer many accommodations unique to the Springhill Suites brand, such as a 24 hour fitness center, indoor pool, upscale complimentary breakfast buffett, and courtesy shuttle. Although parking is something of a close space all reservations are guaranteed one parking spot at all times. Never fear of returning and not having a spot. Thanks again for choosing Springhill Suites North Shore and finding our city to be desired.

We stayed here for 2 nights to go to our son's graduation at the nearby Convention center. The location was very good. the Pirates didn't play home so, we didn't have to deal with the crowd. If you are not a baseball or football fan beware of the game schedules.
The check-in took some time as the staff answered the phone rather than serve their waiting guests. After a 7 hours drive, one likes to be promptly helped !
The room was very large and had a great view of the ball park as we stayed on the tenth floor. It was also not very well cleaned. I had to pick-up hairs (yuck!) and sleep away from the stain of the sheet! I was too tired to complain and ask for clean ones.
Breakfast is included that means not anything special. It was very crowded on Sunday and the staff was overwhelmed.
Parking is pricey at $19 a day but it is conveniently located and easy to get in and out of.

Room Tip: Don't stay on the tenth floor as the roof HVAC units are heard and felt through the concrete cei...

Green Features: The fact that privately run businesses can't use FREE fresh outdoor air is mind-boggling to say the least. We had to run the A/C with an outdoor temperature of 40 degrees ! The blaring light all night long in the hallway is also not green.

First we want to congratulate your family on a graduation and thank you for sharing such a special day with us. Although we are very sorry to hear that we did not reach the expectations any travelers should come to assume from a Marriott location. Certainly our front desk wants to provide its complete attention to all guests and apologize you did not recieve that promptly as you should have. There is never an excuse for any room uncleanliness and have brought your concerns to our housekeeping manager. We only hope that in the future you give us the chance to right the imperfections we thank you for bringing to our attention.
