We loved the fact that you can check in online. We were able to relax and enjoy the area and not have to stand in long line. The estimated wait time was 45 min and that was accurate. Unfortunately it was downhill after that. We rarely saw our server after first round of drinks and the wait for our food was close to an hour. We were a party of four and our order consisted of three burgers and a chicken sandwich. When the food arrived it was was warm and the fries were soggy. I believe it sat under a warmer for a LONG time.
The proximity to the stadium, the atmosphere and the ability to check in online are great. Too bad this was ruined by the slow service and poor quality of food.

“Touchdown in the Steel City”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 July 2014

While waiting for PNC Park to open it's gates for a Pirates Game, we decided to take a walk around downtown Pittsburgh. We happened across Jerome Bettis Grille 36 and decided to stop in a check it out.
There was a huge outdoor patio area, but we wanted to get in out of the heat, so we headed indoors. The place looked first class. Frosted glass front doors opened up into a dark wood, marble topped bar and hostess area. There were flat screens everywhere, showing all the sports channels and old games of the Steelers. The bar was huge, and there were easily 3 bartenders working for the patrons at about 4 p.m. They had a great selection of draft beers, a large wine selection and lots of premium spirits. The marble topped bar area was immaculate, and the bartenders very attentive. The menu was awesome, offering burgers, steaks, salads and even a kids menu. We decided to go small since we were planning on grabbing a hot dog at the ball game later that evening, so we tried the slider appetizer. Let's just say I wish we would have skipped the hot dog for a larger version of the burger. It was very good, and the small sliders disappeared quickly.
The restaurant had a great mix of people. There were families with kids going to the Pirates game, some younger patrons in their 20's and some older folks too. Service was fast but not rushed, as I am sure the place was all too familiar with patrons stopping in before heading to either a baseball or football game.
The Jerome Bettis Grill 36 is an easy walking distance from PNC Park, Heinz Field and the hotel we stayed at, the Residence Inn Northshore. I would highly recommend stopping in and checking it out. Jerome Bettis was a class player, and his establishment reflects this as well!

Can't say this place met many of or expectations. Food was average at best. Not worth a special trip. There are better places between heinz field and PNC Park

“Okay”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 July 2014

First thing. . . I LOVE Jerome Bettis. His restaurant, not quite as much. It's okay. I was a little disappointed in the limited menu but what we got was good. It seemed like most of the items were on the unhealthy side. To tell the truth I can't even remember what we ordered other than the huge nacho plate. We sat at the bar because of a full house and the men in our party got to experience the men's room mirror which they had heard so much about and truthfully what had brought us in. Would we go back? If we were in the area, but probably would not make it a destination.

“Great Location in Pittsburgh”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 July 2014

My family and I traveled to Pittsburgh for the night on our way to DC. We found this Grille listed in the hotel brochure and thought we'd give it a try. Being a Saturday night near PNC Park, there was a wait to be seated but it was reasonable; only about 20 minutes. The food was very good. In fact, the shrimp appetizer was fantastic! We were also pleased with the choices for our kids. I would recommend this restaurant to others.
