This hotel had a great view of the fountain and Heinz Field. It was easy to walk everywhere downtown. The subway was a block away, too. The staff was so helpful with directions and restaurant recommendations, also. A really nice place to stay.

Room Tip: Try to get a view of the fountain at Point State Park.

Great place to stay for a Pirates games! Everything is within walking distance. A busy Saturday so we had to wait till 4pm to check-in. A conference had just let out and the line got very long quickly with only 2 front desk workers. Smaller dogs are welcome with advance notice. A $50 fee and waiver signing is needed. We parked around the corner in a self-park parking garage for $8 a day (weekend rate). Otherwise, Valet is $30. Our room had a king bed. I was very happy with the space and bathroom and thought it was very clean. However, it was close to the elevators and they are NOISY! They constantly give off an alarm/scream sound that needs to be fixed or silenced (at least on the 5th floor). It's my only complaint. Market Square restaurants are just 3 blocks away. Point Park great for a walk. Walk to the Pirates game.I'll definately stay there again. Maybe next time without the dog and on a very high floor for the great view.

We appreciate that you chose the Wyndham Grand Pittsburgh for your recent stay, and are glad to know you enjoyed bringing your dog. With regard to the elevators, we can assure you our engineers will double check the 5th floor and the noise you described. If your plans bring you back to our fine city, we hope to see you again!

The first time we attempted to stay here it turned out there was a festival at the Point. When we called the hotel to request a refund since we could not get to the hotel unless we walked in the rain (all of the garages within a mile were full and the police blocked off all roads leading to the hotel) we were told to find parking and ask a police officer to remove a barrier so that we could drive through hundreds of people to reach our hotel! Eventually we were able to get a refund after an hour of arguing with the staff.

This time we actually stayed there and I regret that we did. The location is great (unless there is a festival) but service was still repulsive. The valets could care less if you wanted their service (they hid in their office), the front desk had a line with one person working it (the manager saw this and did nothing until the lobby started getting crowded), the bartender didnt know how to mix (what recipe calls for 3oz of Triple Sec in a Cosmo?), the hostess rolls her eyes when you ask for take out coffee/juice, if the pool is closed the operator will tell you it is your fault for not calling before checking in to ask if the pool would be open, and if you order food from an outside source then they are not allowed to bring it to your room (hotel policy). On top of this the bed is made with a combination of flattened out pillows and a rock hard mattress. The shower has half a glass wall causing a small flood whenever you shower. Plus there is an empty cabinet where the mini fridge goes if you would like to rent one!

All in all, avoid if possible. Your presence at their hotel is annoying at best and they will make you well aware of it.

The best part of the hotel is the location; within walking distance of the sports stadiums, walking trails along the rivers, the inclines, and Market Square. The hotel is clean and safe. Another plus is free wifi and a business center (free computer time and printing). Minor problem with the bill but the staff member resolved the issue. There is no self-park associated with the hotel but there is a nearby garage that is cheaper than valet if you do not mind walking. I would stay here again.
