“Our Weekend Stay at the Omni in Pitts.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 July 2014

What a wonderful weekend and treat to stay at the spectacular Omni International, great location, food is excellent, service is superb. The hotel itself is extremely beautiful with so much architectural detail. It's hard to take it all in. I was not feeling well and a little hurried and stressed. 30 min. into our arrival the stress went away and the room was so comfortable - we couldn't have been more pleased. Love this hotel and the convenience to everything including walkable areas. I felt like royalty.

We stayed here for our 11th Year Wedding Anniversary (Steel being the 11th year anniversary gift) in June and really enjoyed the Hotel and the City of Pittsburgh. What a grande hotel and a beautiful city. My first time in Steel City and I was taken by the grandeur of the Hotel. The ceilings are to be admired in the Terrace Restaurant and in the Lobby. Service was excellent. Location and parking very convenient to where you want to be in the center of town. There was a baseball game that evening and found out they would close one of the bridges to cars for pedestrians. We rode the incline (which is a must do if you are here), saw several trains go by, took an all day city tour, dined at the Grand Concourse Restaurant one afternoon, walked through the Arts and Music Festival by 3 Rivers and did the other exciting touristy things to do. I highly recommend staying at this beautiful historic hotel that is in the center of where all the action is in Pittsburgh.

A fantastic stay with the most pleasant staff and wonderful rooms! Michelle in the Taproom took care of us every night. Food, drinks, rooms were wonderful. When I return to Pittsburgh I will be staying here. This was my first stay in an Omni and it won't be the last!!

The lobby is outlandish in a stunning way. Lots of gold, lots of history and charm. My husband has been to this hotel several times for business, and it has never disappointed. This time we were in Pittsburgh visiting friends overnight, so I was able to stay in this wonderfully old, but modern, hotel. A con is the parking. Across the street is the garage. You can't pull up to the hotel and leave the car to check in. (Unless valet park). This is odd to me. We parked our car, took a parking ticket ($12/day), and we had steps to walk up with our luggage. This had location of desk (read below) are the only negatives.

The reception area has apples in bowls and water with fruit nearby. The man that checked us in was extremely kind and friendly. The hallway going to the room was a little dark (this dates the hotel some), but the room was bright. We had a corner room with two big windows. The door knobs to the bathroom are tiny (along with the lock--age). The desk is very close to the bathroom (hit legs on the corner of the desk if not careful). The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The closet is huge (for a hotel) with robes hanging inside. And we liked the motion lights that were under the nightstand that would light up the room when getting up from the bed in the middle of the night. (Some may think this light to be too bright). The hotel is directly across the street from the T (subway). The T takes you directly to Rivers Casino. It is also within walking distance to restaurants (we went to Primanti Brothers for lunch). Breugers Bagel is excellent for quick breakfast. I stayed only one night at the Omni, but I really did like this hotel, found the price/night to be acceptable, and would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Pittsburgh.

This hotel was clean, quiet and staff was really friendly. Perfect location for my stay as I was working right across the street. Not to far of a walk to PNC Park. Lots of good quality restaurants near by and the Steel Station is just across the street. The fitness center was decent for a hotel but some of the machine are out dated and it did get busy in the morning.

As others have said, it's a beautiful hotel - crystal and wood work
Convenience - park your car and walk to Point State Park, cross a bridge and take the Incline and you can be in Mount Washington, within 15-20 min. Walk in another direction and you can get to The Strip, another Pittsburgh jewel. The restaurants and bars within the hotel are great.

But the best part of this old world hotel is the bar in the lobby, which was designed to "See and be seen". The weekend we were there was "The Furry Convention". Now this is people watching at it's finest. We had some drinks and watched "The Furries" come and go. They were perfectly welcomed, kind and everyone was respectful. They were happy to pose, and made the weekend so much more fun.

Lots of Philly fans were in town and there was a beautiful wedding. We could watch all this while enjoying cocktails. The time in the lobby made the experience even more fun.

As we were leaving, a Bell Hop came from somewhere and carried mine and my two sisters' suitcases out to our car. The food was great, the valet service was prompt, and the bell hop was attentive.

We were here 15 years ago for a birthday party. It was fun to relive old memories and make new ones.!

Room Tip: High up for a good view

This hotel has a beautiful old-schoool glamour feel but what really shines is the staff. All of the employees are in collusion to provide an excellent experience for the customers. An oasis in the middle of a big city.
