“Very comfortable Inn in a historic home”

A lovely Victorian just off the main street in Port Allegheny. A wonderful stop on the scenic Route 6 drive across the northern mountains of PA. We enjoyed the delightful hospitality of Jay and Sharen - especially the 3 course breakfast. Neither of us could resist the fresh peach coffee cake hot from the oven. Well worth the reasonable price. We were also glad they allow one night stays in this autumn leaf season - not true of most other B&B's in this area. We are looking forward to trying Jay's apple butter made locally. You can pick up this and other local treats in their lobby.

We tried doing a scenic trip avoiding the main highways and ended up in Port Allegheny, PA. It's a small town with a small number of overnight accommodations. We tried the B&B on Maple Street. It is an older building, the new portion built in 1906. It was very cozy and the inn keepers warm and welcoming. The rooms are on the small size and the bathroom in our room squeezed into place. The plumbing was new and the room and bed very comfortable. Breakfast was very good, fresh baked banana bread, fruit, and a quiche plus all of the standard fare.

When traveling the scenic Route 6 from coast to coast the small towns and communities along the way are compared to a string of pearls; no two alike yet all are beautiful. We thank you for staying with us and hope your Route 6 travels yield many more adventures and stories for you.

Roomy, comfortable B&B accomodations. Even a kitchen in the Maple Suite! Not as fancy as some elegant Victorians, but a very pleasant place to stay. And Sharen makes the best French toast ever! Sharen and Jay were the perfect hosts, friendly, helpful, and accomodating.

Jay and Sharon are superb hosts of this elderly house in Northwestern Pennstlvania. They still offer great, beautiful and comfortable rooms, and delicious breakfasts to suit every taste and diet. A new addition is Norwegian Elkhound Tucker, who barks a brief but friendly hello whenever you enter their unlocked door. If you need a king-size bed, ask about the house around the corner which was recently acquired. For us it is the only sensible place to stay when you travel in the area. We feel like we are part of the family. And evenings on their large front porch are a peaceful way to end a busy day.

We're not really Bed & Breakfast types, but our recent stay at The Inn couldn't have been better! Jay made us feel welcome even when we were making the reservations from California! When we arrived, he adjusted our room assignment to accommodate space for our sons who were staying part time at our new in-laws house for our eldest son's wedding. We loved Tucker, the house dog! And my youngest son felt so comfortable he went to the dining room early everyday for extra "coffee and conversation". Jay and Sharon even extended their hospitality to our other family visitors who joined us for coffee at the Inn one morning. It's not super fancy, but it is a clean, comfortable and spacious place to stay, and it is by far the best housing in the area. Jay's hospitality is second to none! We loved our visit to the area and our stay at The Inn on Maple Street!

Room Tip: We loved the Maple Suite. 3 bedrooms, living room and kitchen!

This was a great place to stay while visiting family nearby. The little touches made all the difference from comfy beds, to chocolates available in the rooms. I would definitely stay again and gladly so.

My husband and I just visited the inn for the first time with friends. It is a beautiful home but most of all the front porch was the best. We could relax and meet other guests on this porch. We were well taken care of by Jay, Sharon and the family. The food was excellent and breakfast on the porch was a delight. Very nice quiet location and several conveniences close by. We look forward to returning later this summer.
