“Cozy BnB”
Reviewed 9 April 2014

We were checking in late (12:30 AM) and Allyson was so sweet and accommodating. We checked into our (adorable) room and found homemade cookies waiting for us. The room was warm and inviting. It was spacious enough, yet felt cozy. The breakfasts were amazing! We hiked part of the Appalachian Trail while we were there, and the shower and fuzzy bathrobe after was so welcome. We had a great dinner at Greystone up the street. Allyson is so sweet and welcoming. We've already planned to go back when we hike the whole Appalachian Trail. Maid's Quarter's will be a welcome bed after some hard hiking!

We stayed at the Maid's Quarters this past weekend and it was lovely. Located on the main street with parking directly across the street, this is a really nice place. Allyson is warm and welcoming, the rooms are well appointed and clean, the bed was very comfy. Breakfast was delicious with lots of home-baked goodies. And we had chocolate chip cookies in our room, prepared by Allyson. We had 3 windows, a private bath with shower, a small electric fireplace and ample seating.

Room Tip: There are only 3 rooms and I trust they are all equal to the one we had.

This was a very pleasant stay. We had to travel to Pennsylvania to pick up some furniture, and decided to make a weekend of it. Carried our cross-country skis, and finally found snow on Sunday. The Yuengling brewery is closed for tours on Saturday, but we opted for Plan B, and found some local art galleries with very reasonably priced baskets, paintings, etc.. Pottsville itself has seen better days, and the magnificant buildings in the downtown area attest to the one time prosperity of the region. Allyson is a great hostess, and her caramelized banana crepes are to die for. We would be happy to return, and recommend Maid's Quarters B&B wholeheartedly.

My husband and I stayed here for one night on an excursion to the Yuengling Brewery. We stayed on the third floor in the Maid's Suite. We found the Maid's Suite to be very spacious and decorated nicely. The suite was perfect for the two of us, but would be ideal for a family traveling through since it includes a day bed as well as a queen. We enjoyed the complementary drinks, snacks and homemade cookies. The breakfast in the morning was the highlight. Allyson is an amazing cook as well as a wonderful hostess; very kind and friendly. Our only complaint was that the water pressure on the third floor wasn't so great. We do understand that it is an old building, so that is most likely the reason why. The water pressure issue is the only reason why I haven't given The Maid's Quarters 5 out of 5. We did bring the water pressure issue up to Allyson.

My husband and I stayed at the Maids Quarters B &B for 2 nights on our way to Florida from Maine. It was our first visit here. Allyson was a perfect Hostess guiding us to restaurants, asking if we had any special needs etc.
The breakfasts were very good and she offered a choice which was very nice.
Our room was clean and comfortable. The atmosphere very homey.
The only drawback was the location of our room. It was the only room with a private bath and it was on the busy street side so the noise level might be a problem if you're a "light" sleeper. If you don't mind climbing a few stairs, I would recommend the suite on the third floor if you prefer a private bath. The other 2 rooms on the second floor where we stayed shared a bath.
I did recommend the Maids Quarters to friends who will be stopping on their way back North in March. I don't think they will be disappointed.

Allyson is a great host and an amazing cook (almond encrusted croissant french toast was to die for). Home is clean and inviting. My wife and I spent two great days there on the way back to New England, our first stay at a B&B. We joked we can't stay at another one because we doubt any can compare to the Maid's Quarters and Allyson. For the record all rooms have private baths and locks on the doors. (I have seen old reviews concerned with these issues). If your in the area you have to stay here!

As we pulled up to The Maid’s Quarters, we where a little unsure of our choice, but, as we opened the door and met Allyson, she made us feel at ease and at home. The B&B is very nice, decorated as you were back in time, with a few of today’s amenities. We stayed on the 3rd floor suite, which was well kept for building built in 1829. Allyson stocks the room with many different treats, from homemade cookies, cakes, and cheeses, to some sodas, waters, beer and red wine. The breakfast was wonderful. The best is her story, in how she came to be the proprietor of The Maid’s Quarters. You will have to go and stay with her to hear it, you won’t be disappointed in any way!

Room Tip: she has 3 rooms, i'm sure the others are just as fine as what we had !
