“Still wonderful”
Reviewed 29 December 2013

I first reviewed this restaurant in 2011 and wanted to again emphasize how wonderful it is. My husband I I are fortunate enough to be able to dine here several times a year but plan to frequent it more often in 2014. The atmosphere is beautiful, the food is the best in the area, and the servers are both attentive and knowledgeable.

“who would have thought ?”
Reviewed 28 November 2013

You would never had thought that this restaurant would be striving in a economical bruised small town such as Pottsville Pa..The food was fabulous. The staff was great ! Allyson, the proprietor of The Maids Quarters recommended The Greystone to us for dinner. They were very accommodating since we did not have reservations. Definitely 5 stars with a "family like" feel !

“Great Restaurant”
Reviewed 30 October 2013

We had a wonderful meal at Greystone Restaurant our first night in Pottsville. We made a reservation since it was a Friday night, but it really wasn't necessary. My husband and I both had beef dishes and both were very good. I ordered a carrot cheesecake for dessert. It was the biggest piece of cake that I had ever seen! It is a little pricey, so be prepared to spend a little - especially if you order drinks. Definitely worth visiting.

“Glad we finally "discovered" the Greystone”
Reviewed 12 September 2013

While visiting in the area we ate dinner twice in one week at the Greystone, once choosing from the dinner menu, the second time from the Liter Fare offerings. Both meals were very good -- the Chilean Sea Bass was excellent as was the Veal Pot Roast with Gnocchi. The lighter fare fish and chips, served on "newspaper" with home made shoestring "fries" was also great -- loved the brown sugar vinegar and blue cheese slaw that went with it. The Greystone burger, while a bit too heavily salted that night, was also good. Somewhat of a disappointment were the desserts that we chose to share each night. The "Monster Cake" -- a chocolate monster indeed and big enough for 2, maybe 4 diners, was only so-so in taste. Hoping to improve on the ending to the meal for the second visit we shared something described along the lines of...vanilla sea salt caramel crunchy cake. Again, it was ok but not outstanding and not up to the level of the entrees, and for that matter the appetizer of duck pot stickers, the breads, the dipping oil, the beer and the wine selections -- all made this restaurant a definite winner and one to which we will return when we are in the area again. (Next time we will get the manager to share the history of the building with us, as another reviewer did!!)
