Every time that we attend this Museum we are amazed at the new exhibits. They are placed perfectly in the building and they offer places for children to interact with some of the displays.

y wife was at a photo shoot and so I took the kids to check out the Reading museum. It was a Dora day and actually we did not go with the intention of seeing that exhibit. And actually we enjoyed the rest of the museum without the Dora exhibit.
There are many things in this museum that the kids enjoyed.. from the knights and armor, to the great mummy display in the ancient civilizations and the kids loved the founders movable wax figure downstairs.
It is well worth the time to take your kids there or go as adults - there is much to see and enjoy. Plan on a couple of hours of time to see the exhibits. And Enjoy

Great museum for everyone! I was visiting family and decided to take my nieces and nephew to the Reading museum. Not expecting much to do there and only spending an hour or so in the museum, boy I was wrong. There was a bunch to do and see, play with, and learn, it was amazing! We spent just about the whole day there. And all of us had a blast, young and old! We even got the grandparents to surf!

Our family has been members of this museum for a few years. For a city the size of Reading this museum has a great collection including an Egyptian mummy which is always a hit with the kids. They change their exhibits quite often which is nice but also keep many of the more noteworthy (mummy) collections displayed continuously. On our most recent visit we saw artwork being displayed from Andy Warhol and local artist Keith Haring. Its a great way to spend a morning or afternoon in Berks County.

The museum had an exhibit with an Egyptian Mummy and my kids were fascinated with it. The way the artifacts are displayed draw kids in to check each one out. There is an amazing area that allows kids to climb a rock wall, go virtual surfing, and look at minerals that glow. During the Spring-Fall there is a beautiful area outside to walk along a path and enjoy the scenery. Unfortunately the Planetarium was closed due to a wedding and we are looking forward to checking that out next! Would definitely go here again!
