First off, I travel to Reedsville for business periodically and stay at a hotel chain. Well, this time I scheduled my trip and I could only get a hotel for the first part of the week as the hotel was totally booked. I decided to get here and I could find "something" at that time. Little did I know at that time this was the move in time for Penn State freshman. YIKES!
So I checked around and the closest was an hour and a half away. No Bueno, a colleague recommended the Briar Rose, so I called. They had Thursday, but Friday was booked. And this is where the magic kicked in. Lisa and James let me stay in the private living room and did everything they could to make me comfortable. The room had doors and the emergency cot was comfortable. No issues and problem solved!
With that said, I had a great time. I heard some great stories, played an impromptu 80's trivia game. There was free soda, coffee and snacks. The rooms (I stayed in 2 as well as the living room) were very comfortable and well decorated. I really felt like I was staying with family.
P.S. The Briar Rose could have raised their prices during this time (the motel 8 with 2 stars on trip advisor was charging 185 a night), but they didn't. They could have turned me away Friday or charged more,...First off, I travel to Reedsville for business periodically and stay at a hotel chain. Looks like I am staying here whenever I come back for business.
Thank you Lisa and Jimmy for helping me out and for allowing me in your home.More
