“Country comfort , clean and peaceful”
Reviewed 28 July 2014

We have been return guests at the Cherry Lane Motor Inn for a number of years. This property has evolved into a real charm of a hotel. Peter and Dee who are the proprietors of this lovely country inn have renovated many of the guest rooms. Here you will find very comfortable bedding, micro/fridge combos, hair dryers, great working wifi and much more. The grounds on which this property sits are pristine with a very inviting outdoor pool, well manicured front lawn, playground for the kids and plenty of seating so you can relax and watch the Amish world pass by. The continental breakfast is just enough to start your day. Although the Cherry Lane is in the heart of the country it is still very convenient to all attractions, Restaurants and excellent shopping. The rates here are very affordable . Relax and enjoy a true gem in the country.

Just returned from 2 night stay. We used to stay there all the time but haven't been there in 6 years.
Our first floor room was very clean and comfortable. Gentleman working front desk was very pleasant and accommodating.
This place is in an AWESOME location. Located just off Route 30 but you feel like you are truly in the country.Horses and buggies are constantly passing by. Grand daughter loved it.
Excellent value. Paid a total of $166 for room.
Can't wait to go back.

We booked this hotel due to higher reviews we had read online. We booked through Booking.com. Upon arrival, the office insisted we pay in cash prior to checking in. We requested to see the room first, and the man at the desk was extremely rude but accommodated our request. There were stains in the middle, the top and the side of the comforter on the bed. The room smelled of must. The toilet was placed so low and close to the wall that you had to physically lift your right arm above your head to fit. We discussed our dissatisfaction with the unsanitary conditions of the room and the inaccessible toilet, and requested that we cancel our reservation. It was 11pm and we were a long way from home, but we did not care- we were NOT staying at this hotel with such unsanitary conditions and rude staff members. He claimed he was the owner of the facility but had no name badge on. Once back in the office he told us he will charge us for one night and we can cancel the second night. We argued that our reason for canceling was due to the inadequate circumstances of the room he provided to us and asked if there was anything he could do. He stated "I could, but since you gave me a problem with paying in full when you came, I won't." We could not believe our ears. My in-laws were present at that point and tried to reason with him. He changed the sheets and they decided to change hotel rooms with us so that we didn't have to stay there due to his treatment of us and our dissatisfaction with the room. We were not getting our money back and they said they would do it so we didn't have to. We went to run some quick errands and when they returned to the Cherry Lane Motor Inn, they discovered that the bathroom had NO RUNNING WATER. The shower, the sink, the toilet- NOTHING worked. They called the front desk but nobody answered. They went to the front desk and the lights were out and door was locked.
I understand that this hotel seems like a family friendly place- offering a large outdoor pool, but please don't make the same mistake that we did. There are so many wonderful Amish-run traditional motels in the area that are absolutely pristine in condition and would give you the experience that you deserve to have when you are visiting such a culture-rich town.
We will NEVER stay at the Cherry Lane Motor Inn and hope that someone is deterred from making the same mistake that we did.

Room Tip: Please do not book at this hotel. Stains on the comforters, no running water, and no assistance aft...

We stayed 2 days, we have been to Lancaster PA several times now. The people running this place were very nice, and the price was reasonable. The room was clean, but nothing special. We could not get internet connection, and we asked an older man in the breakfast/lobby area about it, but there was a language barrier problem, so I just decided we could do without it. The breakfast was not that great, we skipped it on the second day. There was also a bit of a wild life issue in the hallways with birds and other small animals. The pool was large and well kept. I probably would not stay here again, tried to save money, but you truly get what you pay for.

Room Tip: Get a room on the bottom floor, you could at least sit out and the pool is easier to get too.

Motor Inn was comfortable, nothing fancy but I didn't mind. Rooms were clean, people VERY friendly. Would have liked a soda vending machine, but sodas are available at the front desk for purchase. I would definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: We stayed on first floor, king size bed room and it was quiet.

This motel was marginal and we refused to stay there. When we inspected the room, it was unkempt and the door lock did not function. When we asked for a refund, the manager refused to refund our prepayment.

We stayed six nights at this motel. We stayed here before and we did give it a better rating. The room that the motel gave to us was not in the main part of the motel. We were placed in
a room that was much smaller then the room we stayed in previously. To get to the room we had walk thru a dingy hallway and climb a flight of stairs that was very narrow, with a loose railing, and dirty stained wall. The room a/c had newspaper stuck in the top instead of corking, which we noticed after having to take the filter out to wash it so the air could get thru it.The window screens were falling apart, the storm window was cracked, one curtain had two large tears in it, the carpet needs to be replaced, the floor was uneven, and when you opened the drawers on the furniture they fell out!! Numerous times I had to ask for toilet paper. One day the room wasn't even cleaned. I was told that we were in the room so they couldn't clean it. We had left the room at 7:30 am and were out of the room at that point for five hours. We had stopped back for about 20 minutes and then left again for another six hours. There was no excuse for it not being cleaned. When they did clean the room (supposedly for 40 minutes) the only thing done was the bed was straightened and the towels were changed. The mirror had something splashed on it,there was built up soap scum around the faucets and the bathroom door didn't close all the way . Half of the towels were thread bare. Please understand we had requested a room change as soon as we saw the room, but according to the owner no other rooms were available, (although the vacancy sign was light every night of our stay) and he had already run the charges thru my credit card. The owner was extremely rude and very smug about the whole situation. We stayed out of the room as much as we could, only returning to sleep. Also while there were three double lights in the room only one light bulb in each worked, including in the bathroom, and on the staircase going up to the room. My advice is to stay as far away from this place as possible, no matter how nice it looks from the outside.

Room Tip: Reserve a room in the main part of the motel near the pool. Ask to see the room prior to paying.
