“Do yourself a favor. Stay at the Best Western instead.”
Reviewed 17 September 2011

I was in St. Marys for two nights in June. I spent the first night at the Comfort Inn, per a recommendation from a colleague. It was not a good recommendation. We reserved a room block and the hotel screwed that up (twice). The hotel was in the wrong, but failed to admit their mistake and accommodate our needs per the terms of the room block. We had to arrange lodging at the Best Western on our own to meet our needs. But I can let that slide. The real problem was the rooms. They were old and smelled like wet dogs. The wallpaper was torn and tattered, the carpeting was nasty, and the room just felt dirty. The continental breakfast was fine, but nothing special. The next night we stayed at the Best Western right down the road. It was like going to the Ritz! The hotel was recently updated and the room was very nice. So, if you're planning a trip to the St. Marys area do yourself a favor and a avoid the Discomfort Inn. Stay at the Best Western - for roughly the same price too.

We stayed one night. Didn't have high expectations but the carpet in our room was gross to the touch. Felt like it hadn't been cleaned in years. we literally wore our shoes the entire time and even put them on as soon as we stepped out of the shower. But wait, there's more. Kid you not, there was a huge turd on the pool's deck. I won't get into further detail but suffice to say that it could not have been from a kid's diaper. I reported it to the front desk and I know that it wasn't picked up for at least 20-30 minutes.
The hotel is under renovation so a) be sure you don't get a room near the noise (we arrived after hours so we didn't hear any) b) ask for an updated room.
Free breakfast was plentiful and good.

We were directed to stay at this hotel when we came to this town for a wedding. Although the hotel appears to be quite old, (there was even a beer bottle opener on the wall!), it was a very comfortable and nice stay. The walls appear to be quite thick because we didn't hear any of the commotion that we understand took place in the hallways. We slept like rocks. And it was pretty affordable.

Stayed in a two double-bed room. Furnishings are old and tired but room was clean. Old CRT tv though they do have wireless internet available. Fitness room has a treadmill, stepper, and bike which worked well. Hot continental breakfast in the AM is nice. I've stayed here a couple of times for work and never had a disastrous experience. Front desk is friendly. One thing about this hotel: it can be difficult to get a room the day before, etc. I think a lot of the rooms are reserved in advance for the gas drilling operations nearby but I've never felt that the hotel was "full".

This property is clean; the rooms are large and well appointed. Special cheers to the staff. They made our stay truly memorable... especially for our charming mini-bull terrier Thomas.

This is the first time I have ever wrote a review about a hotel and I am making time to write about this one. The hotel is by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. You can smell mold in the hallways and rooms. The room was anything but clean. The staff could careless if you have a problem or concern. The manager really needs to rethink her profession and her hiring process. I could go on and on but the point of this review is to make you think twice. Your best option is to stay away!

After touring around some beautiful parts of Pennsylvania and ending up overlooking wild Elk in Benezette. We decided not to drive home but pinged in nearest Hotel on our gps and this Comfort Inn turned out to be only 16 miles away so we went over to it at Saint Mary's.
The Hotel would probably get missed if not for the gps, as it is high above the road up a winding driveway. Look for the huge school entrance, it's across the road from that.
Greeted by a very polite friendly young lady, gave me two room options and the price for both.
The King size bed had a medium to soft mattress, the most awful tiny pillows, probably 12"x12", fought with them most of the night.
Two arm chairs, table, side tables, work station, fridge, microwave, drawers, wardrobe, vanity unit/ sink in room and small bathroom because of the whirl pool tub in the room.
The room was clean and their was plenty of hot water with a powerful shower over a tub, nice touch with having hand rails.
Far too many rules and regulations with the whirl pool tub so didn't bother using it as I do like to have a teeny weeny bit of bubble bath in mine and it wasn't allowed in this one.
Seemed to be a nice pool but never made use of that either and there is a work out room.
The breakfast was hot well cooked sausages (very nice) with scrambled eggs accompanied by the usual cereal's, toast, bagel's etc.,
Very nice Comfort Inn and would certainly use it again but, would take my own pillow's.
