“The best ice cream around!”
Reviewed 3 May 2014

No trip to State College and Penn State is complete without a trip to the Creamery. We buy ice cream to eat there, to take home and the famous State College Diner stickies if they have them. Be aware there can be a very long line on big event or warm weekends.

“Yummy”

So good! Line is long but moved quickly. Even if it hadn't it is worth the wait. Coffee Break rocks!

“Wickedly good”
Reviewed 21 April 2014

I had a cup of the Wicked Caramel ice cream. It was so delicious. I would definitely go back to the Creamery again. They always have a new flavor and every time I have been there I am never disappointed.

“Great ice cream--inefficient process”
Reviewed 16 April 2014

I love Creamery ice cream, but the process of ordering is somewhat inefficient and sometimes confusing the way they set up the order counter. On nice days and weekends when big events are going on, the lines can get long. Also, a tradition is that they won't let you mix two flavors in the same container. Bad news for indecisive people, like me! Also, there's not a lot else there beyond snacks to purchase, although you can get fresh dairy milk from Penn State cows, I believe.

“Never. Gets. Old.”
Reviewed 15 April 2014

If you are a new visitor to campus, this is the best treat in Pennsylvania and possibly the northern hemisphere.* The creamery is easy to find walking and the adjacent garage provides short-term parking (3-gallon tubs are heavy!). There are a number of permanent flavors in addition to seasonal favorites (eggnog! pumpkin pie spice!), and make sure to look around at the other dairy offerings (cheese!). Service is outstanding and most classic flavors can be purchased in 1/2-gals - for a few dollars, buy a thermal tote and dry ice packs if you're traveling. The Creamery also ships, which is the undoing of many alumni event budgets across the country. When you order a "cone" or a "bowl," the portion is one ginormous, belt-busting size that doubles as free weights, so for a short time, you are also exercising. (?!)

(* I recently had hokey-pokey ice cream in New Zealand. My letter to the College of Agricultural Sciences is en route.)
