Don't expect much if you stay here. What bothered us the most was how unfriendly the staff were. We always love visiting Penn State because people are so friendly there. So it was additionally disappointing that the check in staff were so snooty. They just couldn't be bothered with saying hello or being nice. Also, the room was not cleaned well. It was such a sharp contrast to the Nittany Lion Inn, where we usually stay. Definitely won't be staying here again.

I stayed in the Penn Stater for a meeting at Penn State. The hotel is very nice (clean, modern, great shower), with beautiful gardens surrounding. HOWEVER, it took me about an hour on two occasions to get the (free) ATT WiFi working. I called the Help Desk and after 10 minutes the technician pretty much said "you're on your own". On one occasion I went to the lobby and logged in; things subsequently worked in my room. On another occasion, I just let my computer sit and after about 5 minutes the login spontaneously activated. I've not had this level of trouble in more than 10 years. The hotel staff were sympathetic, but there was little they could do. Except for the WiFi, I give the place high marks.

Room Tip: There are two elevators; the halls are long. Ask the check-in person for something near the elevato...

This hotel and conference center knows what they are doing! The staff was friendly, courteous and very helpful. The food served at the conference was fabulous. Highly recommend if you are planning a business meeting or conference.

The Penn Stater is very clean with friendly staff and decent decor. They offer shuttle service downtown until 11pm. Although we had a vehicle, it is a nice option. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. You don't really feel as if you are anywhere near a college as it is quiet and removed from all the action. I do not recommend this hotel if you want to be in the action.

I travel throughout Pennsylvania for business very frequently and this is one of my favorite hotels. The rooms are wonderful and the staff are great. The folks at the front desk are especially helpful. The price may been a bit higher than some other hotels, but I would prefer to pay it for the details that make my stay extra special.

Awful. The housekeeping person ignored my do not disturb sign. Its in the middle of no where. My girlfriend smoked a cigarette and blew it out the window, there was no smell by morning but she left the cigarette butt out. The charge was 250 dollars for a cigarette blown out of the window. Even without the charge, its no better than a Super 8, don't let the PSU label make you pay more.

We truly regret that we were not able to provide you with the service and value that you were looking for during your stay, and certainly apologize if our team disturbed you at any time.
As a smoke-free property, we do our best to ensure this condition particularly for those with allergies, asthma and other health-related concerns. We ask our guests to acknowlege this environment upon arrival by agreeing to a cleaning fee if they do choose to smoke in their guest room. Unfortunately, with the heavy cleaning that is involved and often a delay of several days until that room is ready to be used by another guest, we do need to ask our guests to compensate for those charges.
Please know that at any time we would like the opportunity to get to know you better so that we may try to personalize your stay and make it more enjoyable for you. Please send any requests to reservations@psu.edu and our team will be happy to assist.

The Penn Stater is located at the edge of campus and on a non-football weekend is very quiet. It is too far from main campus for an easy walk, but the hotel provides van services within a 5 mile radius. The rooms are quite attractive and the housekeeping is excellent. The restaurant offers an excellent breakfast buffet.
