Most of these reviews here are misleading, as this location is the Waffle Shop on East College Ave, which is not affiliated with either of The Waffle Shop locations (one on West College Ave and one on Atherton).

The waffle shop on E. College Ave, right across from the PSU campus, is quite different, foodwise. There is not often a line and most of their customers are hungover underclassmen.

As for the food, it is definitely not comparably to the other Waffle Shops. It is mediocre diner food, at best. Eggs were slightly cold and too greasy, but again, typical diner breakfast. It will satisfy your want for breakfast, but not much else.

I would stick to the other Waffle Shops and not look back, haha.

There are a few different locations of the Waffle Shop, so no matter where you are in town there is always one close by. This particular one is in the heart of downtown, so it can get very busy on weekends. However, the waitstaff and managers of the Waffle Shops are experts at keeping the line moving and getting customers in and out. Bring cash since they do not accept cards. The food is delicious, orange juice is fresh-squeezed, and coffee is neverending. The prices are just right as well, and even better if you get the combos!

Solidly one of the best breakfasts in town. Service tends to be above average. Food comes out quickly and has easily been one of the most consistent restaurants for years and years. From eggs to pancakes and waffles, it's really a "must visit" for anyone who enjoys a good breakfast.

This is a Penn State icon. A must have on any morning, but good luck on a football morning. I had the country fried steak and eggs yesterday...and the eggs Benedict today :) my wife enjoyed the peanut butter pancakes. You can't go wrong with pretty much anything on the menu. Don't miss The Waffle Shop.

Tried the Waffle Shop for breakfast before heading home. Food was good and service excellent. This place gets very busy and seems to be a staple in the area. I can see why great selection and tasty food makes it a popular stop.
