This property does not live up to the standards we have come to expect from Hampton Inns, our go to chain for on the road travel. The hallways are dark with filthy, disgusting carpet. Looks like a frat party just happened last night! Rooms are dark and sadly in need of updating. We had to ask for our Hilton Honors amenities. And there were not cookies in the evening. Beds did not feel as comfortable as a normal Hampton Inn. Linens had stains on them. Breakfast was just ok. Overall, maybe on par with a Red Roof Inn. For the prices they are charging, they should do much better.

Room Tip: Go to the other Hampton Inn in the State College area. They are up to par. Or choose another hotel...

Good value. Clean. Nice staff. Quiet. Complementary breakfast was fine but choices were more limited than I've seen at other similar hotels. I stayed here about 8 years ago for business and complained about how dirty my room was at check-in, but they seem to have made a big turn-around. My room was fine this time.

We drove 9 hrs from Chicago area and found the hotel (and the nearby restaurant) a pleasant surprise. Friendly staff, nice room, nice breakfast. There are a few hotels in the area, but check this one out first!

We were visiting State College for a tour of Penn State and founfd that this hotel was the perfect location; it was only 3 minutes to the Bryce Jordan Center. They had a good breakfast on the premises. The room was very clean and roomy. Would definetly stay here again.

Stayed here because it was convenient to Penn State. For business I usually pick Hampton's. They are consistent, safe, and the rooms are always clean.
Breakfast was good. But they were running out of food and coffee at 8am. The arrangement of seating was sparse, which could easily be fixed with a simple room design. People were actually standing to eat. The lobby floor was filthy, it could use a major scrub down. All in all decent place to stay just needs a bit of attention to the above I mentioned.

We stayed at this Hampton Inn because we where looking at Penn State Main for possible furture school. The Hotel Room and bathroom were very clean. The beds were very comfy and clean. They had complimentary coffee when we got there. The breakfast was good.

Let me start off by stating that I have stayed at many Hampton Inns and although most aspects of my stay were fine, this facility had some shortcomings - for a Hampton. The check-in process and lobby were all fine. Lobby has complimentary "as fresh as can be" coffee and hot water 24 hours/day, which was wonderful. Did not use the pool or gym to comment on those but both seemed pretty clean and well-equipped.
Rooms were just OK. Furniture is a bit dated but functioned well (including TV). There is no refrigerator in the room (a bit disappointed as we wanted to cool our beverages for our golf outing daily). Bed & bedding was comfortable and clean and I was thankful for that. Coffeemaker was in the bathroom - not sure why they couldn't install it in the room. Bathroom was just OK - you can see the age on the wallpaper (some patches) and door (paint stains on a wood door). Hot water was functional, towels were clean and plush enough.
Breakfast was mostly continental - only thing hot offered was the waffle-maker. Juices, milk, yogurt, cereal (4), oatmeal & fixings, assorted breads and pastries - never ran out.
Overall a good stay. And for the value, excellent.
