“Great stay!”
Reviewed 18 October 2013 via mobile

We my wife eight month old daughter stayed in Strasburg for a wedding. This was a great hotel it was clean, comfortable, and well kept. While we were in the area we also did some site seeing, it was a great location for that because it wasn't too far of a drive to anywhere. We were only going to stay 3 nights but we liked it so much we stayed an extra night.

Thank you for sharing your visit to our hotel. We are centrally located in the amish countryside minutes from all local attractions. We have larger rooms than most hotels and offer a great breakfast and great service. We look forward to your next trip to our hotel.

The grounds of the hotel are very nicely done. We had booked 2 king size rooms on Choicehotels.com and when we arrived, the reception lady got confused with the names and said she only had 1 king size bed in the main hotel and 1 queen in the other building. When I showed her the confirmation letter, she changed her tune and gave us 2 kings in the main building. The other couple we were with was quite upset about the fiasco, but we cleared it up to everyone's satisfaction.

Rooms where on the 2nd floor and very confusing to find. Tugging suitcases up the stairways was difficult.

Breakfast was very typical and nothing to rave about.

Would I stay here again, maybe, but will probably check out other hotels in the area.

reserved a room at the clarion inn in Strasburg penn because it was close to the Sight and Sound theater to see Noah. it did not live up to its name. opened the door and the room was tacky. put cold water in the fridge and it was hot the next morning. the bathroom was nice. breakfast was good. the vending machines were all the way over on the other side of the building

I stayed at the Strasburg Inn this past week with family and friends. This was my third visit and I have yet to be disappointed. Unlike the chain hotels along route 30 near the outlet stores, this hotel is surrounded my Amish farmland. The setting is beautiful and most of all it is quiet.

The rooms are large and clean and the continental breakfast which includes hot foods makes a great start of the day.

I recommend highly and this will be my hotel on future visits to Lancaster County, PA

This Clarion Inn is worth staying in! It's in the heart of Amish Country, with Dutch Wonderland theme park a hop, skip & a jump away! You can tell it's an older motel having many buildings on the campus, but there have been many renovations, and it's neat & clean while keeping an old-time charm. They have a beautiful court yard in the back, a great outdoor pool in the front of one of the buildings, and a separate Sun Room for their free expanded Continental Breakfasts.

Room Tip: Not all rooms have refrigerators or microwaves, so call/request ahead if those are needed.

Stayed for two nights to attend a wedding on the property. This is a charming hotel that while it shows its age, it does so gracefully. While we stayed for only the two nights, I could see this serving as "homebase" for those planning to stay longer to tour Lancaster County and the area countryside. Ample complementary breakfast is available to start your day. The Fireside Tavern is available for a nice dinner and the rooms have both a refrigerator and microwave for your snacks.

My husband, Portuguese Water Dog and I stayed there in September for 3 nights. Julia at the front desk was very friendly and welcoming to ALL of us. Greeted our dog with a doggie bag of bones and disposable plastic bags in a cute holder. Traveling with a dog I expected we would be put in a smelly old room. I was pleasantly surprised - this room was in a stand alone building on the first floor and while it could use some remodeling, it was clean and smelled nice - not like a chemical masking of odors. The hotel itself sits on lots of land so there were plenty of places for us to walk our dog, cute gazebos to sit in, benches, nice landscaping and beautiful views of cornfields/Amish buggies. Facilities included a nice fitness center with TV and sauna, outdoor heated circular pool with nice seating, restaurant on site. Breakfast was included and served in a nice sun room. It offered: waffle maker, eggs, sausage and biscuits, yogurt, fresh whole fruit, cereals, breads, juice, coffee. The attendant was very friendly and kept things stocked and clean. So as not to upset the dog or the maid (!) the front desk was very accommodating working with us to send the maid when we and the dog were out of the room. Less than 5 minutes from the Sight and Sound Theater where we saw "Noah" complete with live animals. Less than 10 minutes from Rockvale and Tanger shopping outlets. Hotel is walking distance to a small/new shopping complex with a pharmacy and pizza shop - Strasburg pizza. We ate there one night. The pizza was good and we were also treated to having the girl at the counter actually wait on us - brought us the pizza, plates, checked on us, brought us a box and cleaned up after us...very unusual to find in a take out kind of pizza place. Had an awful lunch at the Kentucky Fried Chicken/Long John Silver restaurant. Typical fast food which is what we expected but we did not expect to have the restaurant staff yelling at each other in Spanish, laughing loudly dancing around all while ignoring the very messy/unclean dining room area. Ate at Millers for the all you can eat. Food was good and the place was kept spotless - seemed there was an attendant for each serving station keeping it clean and stocked. And lastly, we had a lovely lunch at the Iron Horse Inn which allowed us to eat with our dog on the covered outside seating. They were very dog friendly and the food was upscale lunch food...e.g. used fresh mozzarella, fresh herbs, etc. but reasonably priced. Lastly, not to miss if you have a dog - go to the dog park by Franklin and Marshall college in Lancaster. Heard a local woman won the park in a contest. Outstanding - one side for smaller dogs, other for larger and all fenced in. All astro turfed with drinking fountains for the dogs, water park, bridge, complete with tennis balls/Frisbees and nice chairs for the owners to sit in the shade on a beautiful deck to watch the dogs. A must see even if you don't have a dog! Many of the college students missing theirs come over just to play with them. And of course our dog absolutely loved it so we went twice.

Room Tip: The hotel is really a mix of all different building complexes. Some were one floor, some were multi...
