“kindness on both sides of the door”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 July 2012

On this most recent stay, I was with my two young nieces....Miranda was warm and welcoming as I checked in and my room was ready early, my nieces joined me later in the day...my room was as I expected, as iI had stayed in it before. Its not my favorite room at the inn, but it has 2 beds for family stays. It still has its charms and I was totally happy with my stay!!!

We went to the adjacent creamery for ice cream in the evening and then proceeded to the back patio to eat out treat and play a board game. The skies suddenly darkened out of nowhere and we were forced to quickly go inside, very bad thunderstorms came through with some extemely black clouds with a tail that looked pretty ominous.......we went through the creamery side door from the patio to avoid getting totally soaked........then Linda of the creamery was nice enough to let us play our games in a little side room between the inn and main body of the creamery (as the living room of the inn was occupied)....she went above and beyond to be friendly and accomodating.....we had a fun evening as did many folks stranded by the storm and hanging out in the creamery. Linda has been totally friendly and pleasant on all my visits to the creamery.

And I would like to mention that in addition to fabulous ice cream with a multitutde of flavors, the creamery offers a nice selection of sandwiches and soups for a light meal.

Room Tip: If your children can do a sofa bed, i think I would opt for one of the suites, but this room was tot...

Thank you for taking the time to share your experiences from your recent stay at our Inn. We value our guests' opinions because they not only tell us where we're doing well, but they also tell us in what areas we need improvement.

I'm sorry you experienced some inclement weather during your stay (we have no control over Mother Nature!) but am glad to hear that the employees at our adjoining Country Store & Creamery were able to accommodate your desire for space to play a board game. I will be certain to pass along your great comments about Linda and the other staff there.

It's true that our family rooms don't have all of the amenities of our suites, because they are designed to cater to a mix of adults and children. Nonetheless, we are glad to know that they suited the needs of your stay while traveling with your extended family, and that you still found the room comfortable and clean.

We look forward to your future visit(s) with us and hope you'll have the opportunity then to take advantage of one of our suites!

Thank you again for your comments!

We came to see the Sight and Sound production of Jonah. By the way, it was terrific, and to be with two of my grandkids. We enjoyed it so much. Jody gave us good tips on ice cream from the creamery next door ,restaurants to eat at, and we even took a train ride which was pretty cool. Miranda was so kind and our room was spotless. We had a great two nights and three days. And what is a good recommendation comes from Hannah and Michael who want to come back to see Noah production and stay at the Inn. Thanks for great visit.

Thank you for sharing the experience of your stay with us. We're glad we were able to be helpful with recommendations for activities and eateries. Being a small property (as opposed to a larger hotel) allows us to get to spend time getting to know our guests and helping make their Lancaster County visit a success.

We look forward to having you return to visit us for next year's Noah production at Sight & Sound Theatres, and please tell Hannah that peanut butter ice cream is ALWAYS available at the Creamery as a regular flavor!

Thanks again for your kind words!

We stayed at Strasburg Village Inn from June 6 - 8th...we went for a little getaway for our wedding anniversary... the Innkeeper Jody was the best ( as was Miranda) ...so friendly and really seemed to care about making our stay perfect! Never stayed at an inn before usually hotels in the area last 20 yrs -...the experience we had at the Strasburg Inn was romantic and relaxing and we will be back for sure...the inn is over 200 yrs old and has a wonderful porch to sit on ...we were sitting out there after 1am and it was so peaceful...
the walking town was great too...most hotels are on the highway or road and u cant walk anywhere...the inn is in a very historic town w some shops and eateries walking distance...bring your camera!
I want to thank Jody and Miranda for everything : )

Room Tip: There are rooms for everybodys needs...

We visited the inn for one night- we were greeted by Jody,(or was it Marge?...) who was full of local info and recommendations. She told us about a wonderful restaurant to try for dinner (before our reservations at Sight and Sound theatre)-and called to reserve a table for us.Our room was lovely, the gathering room with its coffee, tea, and homemade fudge was a great place to end our night and start our day. I loved waking up to the Amish horse and buggies clip-clopping down the street, and the sound of the churchbells-and the delicious breakfast served downstairs in the Creamery- all in all, it was a wonderful getaway, and we plan to return soon! Thanks for the fun, Jody, and see you soon!

We stayed 3 nights at the Strasburg Inn last week and we loved every minute of it. Our room was cozy and very comfortable. We loved our chats with Jodie and we watched the fudge making at the corner shop underneath our room. Awesome! We hope to be back!!!! All the way from South Africa.

Room Tip: We were in room 6 and didn't see any others. We were on the corner and loved the clip clop of t...

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience at our property. Guest feedback is vital to us so that we can see where we're excelling and where we need improvement. When the feedback is positive, as yours is, it allows us to give our staff a "pat on the back" in encouragement, too!

We are so very glad that you enjoyed your stay with us! Trust me, watching fudge being made next door at the Country Store and Creamery never gets old, so that is a reason in itself to come back.

We will always welcome guests from ANY country with open arms!

This is the second time we stayed here. We got a room with 3 not 2 but 3 double beds! It worked out so well with us, it was my husband our daughter and our 10yr old grandson. they have their own breafast there but across the street was a place and they had the Best buffet breajfast we ever had. We walked right across the street. Location for this motel was great shopping and eating were all in walking. Will stay again next time we go. Love the Lancaster area!!!!!!

Thank you for these positive comments. Having said that, no rooms at our inn accommodate 3 beds per room, so I am concerned that your stay was at a different property and this review was incorrectly linked to us. We'd love to take credit for your experience, but in addition to not having a room with 3 beds, we also are not within walking distance to an eatery with a buffet breakfast.

I hope whomever deserves your kind words receives them!

I truly enjoyed my stay at this B&B. Jodi was warm and welcoming and a pleasure to talk with. My room was spotless, the bed was super comfy, tastefully decorated and all the amenities I needed and the added bonus of a jacuzzi tub was awesome. It was a wonderfully relaxing place to stay! It is located close to the outlets, several of the area theaters and plenty of Amish attractions. The only complaint I had was the morning traffic noise, but didn't notice that at all while I slept and in the morning, I was ready to get up anyway!!! I will stay there again and definitely will recommend to others!!
