Very exciting place for seeing an excellent presentation of model trains and villages year around BUT I especially enjoyed the Christmas display. Have taken my family a few years in a row and no matter how old the grandsons are they love this place. Remember to look up too! Lots of family restaurants nearby and full size trains too -

This was a very cool display. The details were so intricate. I thought admission was a bit expensive for how much time you spend here. The season pass is a good deal, if you are local.

I am an inveterate train lover in all scale and have visited a few of the most famous model layouts, e.g., Madurodam and Gulliver's Gate, but the level of animated detail a Choo Choo Barm blew me away. For example a fire call came and the fire truck rolled to the sight, which had a actual fire, a ladder went up, a fireman climbed it and a hose was deployed to but it out. And there was more, lots more. There were plenty of trains, all obviously computer controlled with multiple trains on multiple tracks. They have a season ticket which I almost bought because there is so much to absorb. Would have if we lived closer..

This is an AMAZING attraction for anyone who loves miniatures and trains. The automation is dazzling and so well thought out. You must walk around the display numerous times to grasp the many intricacies of the display. Every pass reveals something that you didn't previously notice. The intermittent dimming of the lights draws your attention to various features and nicely combines with the animation. Next year we plan on making several visits because each time is unique and enjoyable.

Friendly staff. Large layout with many buildings and trains. Moving cars, working equipment, circus, music, military, flag waving, police car with lights flashing, and more. The ligts in the room go off so you can see the display lit up for night. enjoyed this very much.

The model train layout is great, the artist has put so much time and effort into this and you can tell. They even have a house that "catches on fire" and a fire truck with fire Fighters that respond from the fire station. However, the room is not that large and you can't really pass people. So if you are stuck behind someone who, understandably wants to examine all the details, you will not be able to move around them. The price is a little much for what it is, but my son and husband thoroughly enjoyed this.

First let me say that we were there when it opened and no one else was there. I can see that with any more than a few other people, the experience would quickly degrade (because the aisles are narrow and you can't easily look around or behind anyone standing there). In addition, young children will have a hard time seeing the layout because of its height. Having said that, the layout is incredibly detailed with many different scenarios and many, many unusual moving parts. It was easy to spend a lot of time just looking at any one of the scenarios and enjoying what was moving. For example, there is a fire scene which includes a fire alarm going off, a fire engine arriving, a fire developing in the house, real smoke coming out of the house, firemen arriving and climbing up a ladder, and actual water coming out of a hose--impressive! The scavenger hunt just makes it better. Therefore, I very strongly suggest going immediately upon opening, and, if possible, on a weekday.

Display s good and very detailed but we were here 6 years ago and not much changed. Also, it got very crowded very fast and because of the space being narrow, you are either stuck at places where you do not want to be stuck or try to walk around people and miss items you wanted to do ( ex. my son did want to do scavenger hunt, but was not able to as we were trying to either skip people or were stopped for way too long by others). It would be good on weekdays for the 1st time visitors only

We stopped here because the National Toy Train Museum was closed. Thought this might kill some time. The display is nice and has a lot of detail. Can visit in about 30 minutes and that is stretching it. This would be great for families with children.

Was there 5 years ago and nothing changed, it’s way too pricy for what it offers seeing the exact same boring objects. They should refresh and make it exciting for people to want to come back again with the family.

Hello. We are sorry that you were disappointed with your visit. If you were here in 2013, that was a quite a banner year with the addition of the rollback and the gas station. In going back through photos, videos and Facebook posts, it seems that while we haven't has as many major additions as you may have seen prior to 2014, much of the winter months were spent on smaller upgrades such as new lighting at Dutch Wonderland and the park gazebo, and rebuilding the escalator animation, the Memorial Day Parade and the antique car ride. Some of the bigger projects included a new pond by the circus (replacing the built-in fish tank), adding headlights to 85 vehicles throughout the layout (including the monorail which took MANY hours by itself), and the school bus animation, as well as modernizing some of the outdated houses around Traintown. By request, 6 new push buttons were added so that customers could "operate" the layout themselves. It is just as important to us to keep the realism up to date and make repairs to existing animations as it is to produce new "headliners" each year.
