“Our Cozy Cottage Home Away from Home”
Reviewed 25 August 2014

When my boyfriend and I were initially searching for a place to spend our Poconos vacation, we wanted somewhere private around a natural outdoor environment to take in the Poconos feel instead of another typical concrete hotel. But we also still wanted the service, amenities, and convenience of one. We chose to stay at Woodfield Manor at their self-standing private cottage for 4 nights and it was perfect! We stayed at cottage #17 that faced the open grass yard (as opposed to some of the other cottages that faced the parking lot) and it was our cozy "home away from home". When we arrived, we were especially pleasantly surprised that we had our own parking spot right next to our cottage, that it was surprisingly spacious for such a quaint little cottage, and how clean it was. The quality of the inside was just like a 1-bedroom hotel suite complete with daily room service and windows on all sides of the house which was wonderful to wake up to. The mini-kitchen had a mini fridge (with freezer portion), microwave, toaster, and coffee machine (note: no kitchen sink). There was a gas fireplace that I'm sure would be great to use during the Winter or cool Autumn nights. The property of the resort itself was a good size, with a pool, picnic area, outdoor communal fireplace, and plenty of open grassy areas for activities and grilling. It also had a wonderful highly-reviewed restaurant/bar on location called The Frogtown Chophouse (try their crab cakes, so good!). The location of Woodfield Manor was great as well! We were only 15 minutes away from Camelback Mountain and only a few minutes away from outlet shopping, horseback riding, and a shooting range (Sunset Hill Shooting Range - I recommend!). We would love to come back during the Fall/Winter to stay at a cottage again and make use of that fireplace!

Room Tip: The single private cottages are so cute and cozy. Cottage #17 was perfect for a couple!

Thank you, so much, for your thoughtful review. It is always such a pleasure to learn that not only to our guests enjoy there stay at Woodfield but that they enjoyed the nearby attractions and activities as well.
...and of COURSE the Frogtown Chophouse, our on property restaurant, is not to be missed. It is frequently so full of local diners that our Woodfield guests have to make reservation to get a table on a Friday or Saturday night. Lyman and Eric are great to partner with and are helping us to make the property a 'must visit' property in the Poconos.
Looking forward to seeing you during the 'fireplace seasons'!

We visited Woodfield Manor for a short weekend away and had a wonderful time. In a word, it felt like "home". The staff was super attentive and accommodating, making us feel like we were talking to old friends rather than hotel workers. Theresa even took extra time to let us peek into alternate room options for guests of our upcoming wedding in the area. Also, had a great sleep on super comfortable beds. We will definitely be returning, this time with the kiddos as the pool looked like good fun and it appears to be VERY family friendly and located to lots of enjoyable things to do.

Obviously, you noticed that everyone who works here just loves the place and want all of us want our guests to love the place, too! There is just something about this property that causes most guests to just smile and relax during their stay here. We are close enough but far enough away from the hustle and bustle of modern day life and you just can't help but slow down and enjoy the Day.
We did have a 'children filled' summer but guess what? They played whiffle ball, yard darts, four square and pool games like "Marco Polo". Next summer there will be 2 brand new water parks within 3 miles of us! Kalahari will open in Summer 2015 and Camelback will add an indoor park to their outdoor park next summer, too!
Talk about a great location for families!
See you next time!

Woodfield Manor I would go back it was very clean and the pool also. Theresa was helpful and very friendly. I would let my family and friends know this. Nice and quiet....It was easy to get to. There was a lot of things to do not far from the hotel. The hotel has a grill on the property and also there was a frig , microwave and silverware if you brought food. Also there is a restaurant there on site .

Room Tip: King size room was great.

We came here for the 4th of July weekend celebration. We decided to come a little early and enjoy the poconos, unfortunately the weather was not on our side! We arrived Thursday early afternoon and the front desk person (Theresa) was not present at the moment. We waited 20 minutes for her arrival but once that was settle and we were on our very nice room.

We stood in one of their suite that features a king size bed, dining table for 2, and a sofa in the window filled seating room. The room was very clean it had a small refrigerator a microwave and a coffee maker. We were unable to enjoy the outdoor pool or the restaurant on the premises.

The hotel was located just minutes away from the crossings outlets, Casino and other shopping areas. They provided us with information on how to get around to food, shopping and entertainment and that was very helpful. We had a very peaceful weekend and fun one as well

The only problem we had was the AC was in the sitting area and it really didn't cool the bedroom

I see us returning to this hidden gem!

Room Tip: There are also cabin if you want more privacy

Hello and Thank you for your very thoughtful review on your visit to Woodfield Manor!
I, too, think of it as a 'hidden gem' and have been so pleased at the response we have been getting to the property over the last few months. Our website only went 'live' in April and the response has been unbelievable! We can boast 82% occupancy for the month of July and are projected to have 92% in August!!
September and October are BEAUTIFUL times to visit the area and hope that we might see you then!
Best Regards and Happy Travels....

My husband and I stayed here at the turn of the year and it was the BEST stay we have had in a loooong time. The staff was very accommodating and very friendly and made our dream of having a completely peaceful week a reality. The restaurant on site, The Chophouse, was excellent and the staff echoed the sincerity and kindness of the resort staff, not to mention the food was great!! It snowed when we were there (ice everywhere) and the manager came out to take care of the property and set us up so that we would have all we needed to have a wonderful and relaxing week.

We stayed in one of the cottages and it was a great experience. We were scheduled to stay in the main house but they had a cottage open and they allowed us to switch. It was the BEST.CHOICE.EVER. The cottage was small but it was more than wonderful for my husband and I. There is no formal kitchen and no sink (except in the bathroom) so be forewarned, although we made it work and it didn't take away from the experience. There was a cozy fireplace in the living room that we cuddled up to every night before going to bed and a television in both the living room and the bedroom so if we wanted to watch different things, we could. The couch was a pullout and would work for a small family but if you're looking to do more than 2 adults and a child in the cottage that we stayed in, you're pushing it. Again, they allowed us to see the cottage before we changed our minds so we were able to make an informed choice. Did I mention it was the BEST CHOICE EVER!?!?

I was supposed to write this review after we left in January but I still remember it all like it was yesterday. Thanks again to this wonderful staff for making a long overdue getaway a peaceful and refreshing haven.

Room Tip: The cottages are small but excellent if you are looking to get away from it all! It's like havi...

Hello Monica and Ayinde,
What a pleasure to read your comments and remember a beautiful (but loooong!) winter season now that it is Summer at Woodfield Manor. You two certainly did make the most of it while you were here and were a pleasure to have as guests!
You would both get a kick out of seeing how different the property is NOW! The outdoor pool with its waterfall (which was hardly noticeable when it was all covered in snow) is now the centerpiece of the property. Everything is green instead of white and the birds are everywhere.
Spring Summer Winter or Fall... Woodfield Manor is a delightful place to be.
See you next time!

A spotless suite in the Pocono area. Room #11 was perfect for our family of 4(2 adults and two elemtary age children). Theresa was very helpful. Would stay again but hopefully more than just 2 nights in the future. We would love to try the onsite restaurant next time if our time allows. Bushkill falls was about 40 minutes away but well worth the trip!

My husband and I as well as my sister in law and her husband, just spent a very wonderful and relaxing weekend at Woodfield Manor. We were celebrating our anniversaries. Theresa was the absolute best! We weren't able to check in at check in time, but that was not a problem, Theresa made sure she had everything ready for us when we arrived and all we had to do was walk to the lobby and our key was waiting for us. As recommended by Theresa we had dinner the first night at the Frogtown Chophouse and it was delicious!!! The next night we went to Smuggler's Cove for some yummy Surf and Turf. We had such a great time we are already planning our next trip with the kids. Thank you so much for everything & for making our trip memorable.

Room Tip: We stood in a cottage and it was perfect, at night we turned on the fireplace.
