It’s the bleach cleaner again. Stayed for my second visit here on 31 July to 1 August 2011. A little disappointed with the room. Was on the 3rd floor this time instead of the 5th floor with the excellent housekeeper. The bathroom was not cleaned to standard but I cleaned it up. I guess most housekeepers clean the inside and top part of the bowl and don’t like to clean the bowl all the way down to the floor. The bathroom tub area was in need of some caulk. The water was running in behind the tub and you could feel it under your feet of the bottom of the tub. It was room 308 but I have informed the hotel. I would expect it to be leaking below. The room was supposed to be non-smoking and it is a non-smoking hotel but the room smelled like someone had been smoking in it. Some hotels have start charging people to redo hotel rooms which is good. Because those little machines they use to zap out the smell don’t work. Once that smell gets into everything, carpet, walls, curtains, furniture, you have to replace or get a product to get rid of that smell. We non-smokers can pick that smell up the minute we enter the room. Other than those issues, the staff at the front desk were great, this time I got a room without the sleep number bed and no back pain. Both pool areas were clean, exercise room was still in good shape, but I just wished they would move the smokers from smoking directly in front of the door area. I hate having to breathe in or hold my breath to get into or out the hotel. It is a place I would try again though. I have not given up on them yet. No new pictures, the room was still the same standard.

Background: we booked this hotel through a package deal on the Sesame Place website...affordable and made it easy to book Sesame Place trip, Lunch w Elmo & Friends and Please Touch Museum tickets all in advance.

I'll start this review out by saying that I have no problem giving positive feedback when deserved.

Here is what is good about this hotel:
*proximity to Sesame Place, Please Touch Museum and Philadelphia Zoo
*restaurant and it's staff were family friendly, helpful and accommodating
*cool Library Lounge bar that my husband enjoyed for a drink prior to bed
*good, value price for package deal (or so i thought)

The Bad:
*room was not child-proofed despite having been booked through Sesame Place..within minutes my 2 1/2 year old had figured out how to open the room door AND open window that had just enough space for a small child to climb through onto the roof! Plus closet had mirrored bi-fold doors...perfect for attracting toddlers, then pinching their little fingers
*shower head leaked in bathroom to extent would spray entire toilet/leak onto the floor
*room situated by elevator (room 316) -so noisy at night especially getting into wknd. People congregate by chairs at elevator entrance...obviously not ideal when you have 2 small children (2 1/2 yr old and an infant). My husband complained one evening - and not only did the front desk give the people making noise our room number - but the people came to apologize at 11:20pm at night (!!!) - waking up the baby. Lesson learned for us - but why put a family by the elevator?
*after a full day at Please Touch Museum (fantastic!) and Philadelphia Zoo - we arrived back at hotel with exhausted kids who were half asleep...only to discover our room hadn't been cleaned! This was after 5pm! We called front desk - who sent someone right up...who then left all the dirty washcloths. Okay -so maybe an oversight...but then they did it again the next day - and left dirty towels in the room desk chair - and i'm not even sure they were ours!
*something in air filtration caused my eyes to be scratchy and bloodshot entire trip

Of course - we could have complained more and requested to move - but it was like each day was progressively worse and with two little ones - a pain to change rooms. We just enjoyed our days out - and ended up checking out a night early. This was really really disappointing and was the only negative in what otherwise was a phenomenal trip.
I've passed this feedback on to Sesame Place and directly to the Radisson but wanted to share our experience.

Room Tip: If you hv sm children - ask for childproofed rm away from elevator bank or where ppl congregate

Our family enjoyed our stay at the Radisson Philadelphia. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. It was close to Sesame Place and not far from Philia. It's a full service hotel with a very nice restaurant and pub in the lobby. The buffet breakfast was very good and reasonably priced. The kids loved the pool area, there was a life guard on duty and there is an inside and outside pool to choose from. The outside pool area had a snack bar which served frozen drinks, soft drinks, snacks and grilled burgers and hot dogs. The hotel is in the process of adding mini fridges to all the rooms which makes the stay at this hotel nearly perfect. The only negative that I think is important to mention is the sleep number beds. We found the rooms nice but the beds were rather uncomfortable. I would definitely would stay at the Radisson hotel again, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Room Tip: There are a few rooms that have a patio or balcony over looking the indoor and outdoor pools.

I was pleasantly surprised that this hotel was as child friendly as it turned out to be. We had two connecting rooms that were very clean and nice, and the hotel was very close to sesame place and lots of restaurants. The best thing however, was the pool. There was an indoor and an outdoor pool with lifeguards, which my kids loved. I would certainly stay there again.

After a rejoiceful kidless night in a Colorado hotel, I ended up here, which was base camp for visitors to nearby Sesame Place, which in turn meant dozens of excited, screaming, crying, whining, cheering little kids. This experience confirmed my thready belief in karma, payback for my enjoyment of a quiet hotel the previous evening. I love it when kids have fun. I love to see them have fun, but when traveling on business, I'd prefer to view their fun from a greater distance. Parents, you all deserve credit for giving this experience to your children. I'm not trying to be insulting; I just want other business travelers to know that this might not be the best place for you to stay if you need peace, quiet, and rest. Otherwise, the Radisson was a great place for a short visit. The staff was mostly very friendly and helpful. The restaurant served up a great breakfast buffet, which got us off to a great start.

It's close to Sesame Place so a lot families with small children stay there. But it was still super quiet, didn't hear a thing through the walls.
They also have the number beds if you like them but I personally find them awkward.
Front desk is really nice.
