“Loud and Hot”
Reviewed 21 June 2014

Stayed 6/20. Bottom Line: Older hotel, unique style, outrageously loud late into evening, hot enough to bake a pie.

Check in was efficient. The lobby area has several beautiful aquariums a good sized bar and a restaurant area. Free parking is available, but a bit confusing. We were told to park in the back of the hotel but the two elevators were near the front of the hotel so, go figure.

Hotel is a bit older than most with a unique style that has balconies overlooking the 4 story high atrium containing a dining area and pool. Big issues here. First - I can confirm other reports that the area near the elevators is hot and muggy, but worse yet was the heat and humidity if we tried to use the balcony our 4th floor room had. You could literally bake a pie out there. Very hot and humid.

The rating killer for us though was the noise from the rowdy crowd of drunks that were raising hell in the pool area until nearly 10pm. With each room having a full wall of windows overlooking the pool area, sound traveled unbelievably well and kept us awake.

Otherwise, room was clean, beds comfortable, bathroom area large and clean. No fridge/microwave in room as expected in a Holiday Inn.

May be the best hotel choice in town, but there are other towns available.

The Holiday Inn Warren is definitely unique in it's design and layout which has created both positive and negative attributes. As mentioned within this review, some of the rooms facing the beautiful botanical garden atrium and indoor pool area are subject to the sound which travels internally. Therefore, the staff has been trained and empowered to offer a change in room locations to any guest that finds this to be a disturbance based on availability. The balconies on each floor are warmer over the summer months due to the design of the atrium, however the enclosed guest hallways remain cooler in comparison. The property therefore welcomes all provided feedback and will continue to do our best to rectify all reported concerns.

I stayed here last weekend with my family and a friend.
Check in was smooth and easy, and the employees were friendly.
After checking in, we walked to our rooms and the hallways were very warm, specifically around the elevators, walking through that area felt like a steam room. The other areas of the hotel seemed more comfortable.

While inspecting the bed, I found hairs on two pillows. I put those two pillows off to the side of the room and the rest of the room was clean. The bed was comfortable and I slept well.

In the morning, I ate breakfast with my family and friend. I ordered french toast and eggs. They were prepared how I requested and tasted good.
Note, this Holiday Inn does not have breakfast vouchers like some others. Prices were comparable with other breakfast restaurants.

This is an average hotel. The room was clean minus a few hairs on two of the pillows. The staff was nice. The breakfast was typical Holiday Inn breakfast. The air conditioning unit was too cold even after adjusting it. My daughter loved the fish tanks in the lobby. I would stay here again.

Our property will not provide any excuses for the cleanliness standards not being up to even our own internal expectations within this particular room. Continued training and attention to detail shall remain our focus in order to verify that moving forward, this will not become a trend. We can and will provide better accommodations for all of our future guests!

My room had the hottest water ever! However the walls are paper thin and I would wake in the night if a door shut outside of my room. The hotel was clean although it is older. The staff and people were delightful. There is a Tim Hortons coffee shop in town.

We spent one night in this hotel while traveling through the area. We arrived quite late, around midnight, so I assume that was the reason the person on the check-in desk was not very excited about us. But be got us our rooms and we were ready to bed.

There was a really bad smell in the elevator, can't describe it very well; every time we used it (night, morning). The same smell appeared also when we turned on the AC in the room, but fortunately it went away after few minutes.

Beds and pillows were very comfortable, we had no problem to fall asleep.

This was a very unique and interesting Holiday Inn. The rooms had indoor balconies overlooking the 4 story pool area (room 308). There is also a wonderful restaurant in the hotel. The hotel has a nice layout and cool fish tanks. A great place to come back to after a long day’s work. Balcony rooms were located next to the elevator. Any small noise was echoed throughout the hotel. While I was there, a collection of middle/high school students were there and created an unbelievable amount of noise late into the night. Pretty sure the hotel wasn’t near capacity either, parking lot was almost empty. The noise wan’t entirely their fault as the setup of the hotel was overly conducive to amplifying any noises in the hallways or main hotel area. The final nail in the coffin was lack of hot water in the AM. First morning the water was ice cold (2/6). I checked for hot water in the evening and there was no issue so I assumed Holiday Inn had fixed the problem. Unfortunately, the second morning (2/7) it was tepid which quickly changed to ice cold again. When it is 2 degrees Fahrenheit outside, a warm shower is necessary. Without the hot water problems and noise, it would be a fantastic Holiday Inn hotel. Rooms have a 1 star due to the hot water problems, and sleep quality get a 1 star because of the noise. Otherwise it is a nice, unique Holiday Inn.

Room Tip: Find a room with good insulation and guaranteed hot water, perhaps on a lower floor. Rooms on the 3r...

Dear Mike B,
Thank you for your honest review concerning the Holiday Inn Warren.
We did have over 200 high school students in the hotel that were participating in the District Band Concert. That is why there were not too many cars in the parking lot. Unfortunately, our hot water system could not keep up with the demand.
It is our goal to consistently provide superior service and accommodations and your comments are very important to us. The feedback we receive from our valued guests, like you , enables us to target problem areas and take the necessary actions to ensure similar situations can be avoided in the future.
Inaddition, in an effort to retain your patronage and to demonstrate our commitment to guest satisfaction, I have added points to you IHG Rewards account.
I am the keeper of the fish so I am glad that you enjoy the fish tanks! Hope we can server your needs again in the future.

This place is a gem.... off of Route 6..... in no-man's-land, Warren, Pa. It was tastefully decorated for Christmas.... had a huge bar/lounge and a super-cute area with bistro tables. The pool was very nice...heated. The hotel was very clean and the rooms were very nice, also. I loved the bathroom. No complaints. The front desk staff was extremely nice and helpful. If we come back to Warren, we will definitely stay here!
