Never disappoints, from the guarantee you like something, or the healthy options. This is a very good place to eat lunch

The food is awesome but its a big problem that a grilled cheese place doesnt have drink options for kids. Milk only no juice. Anyway $35 for 2 kids and 2 adults who got 2 kids meals 2 sandwiches and soup....ouch that iss insane

very cute wayne locale- mix if grilled cheeses in different styles, some soups and salads as well- limited menu but what is offered is fun and good- really ideal for kids and parents who want a grilled cheese on a rainy day- the owner/manager was very welcoming and pleasant- only negatives would be the limited menu, the inside could use some freshening up/cleaning up and the prices are a little on the high side- worth a trip though-

Grilled cheese is comfort food, clear and simple. Melt Down Grilled Cheese is a great place to go when you don't want anything fancy. On our first trip in for dinner, we were pleased to find that gluten-free bread was an option... and it was very good gluten-free bread. Hubby had a classic grilled cheese with a mix of American and Cheddar cheeses. The menu board states one or the other, though they happily mixed the cheeses. Hubby also added tomatoes. That night his sandwich was brimming with cheese. Son and I had Cheesy Caprese - which wasn't as "cheesy" as the name implied. We were disappointed in the amount of cheese used. The basil and tomato were good, though the balsamic glaze tasted off. We also had a Berry Goat Salad. We were disappointed in the agave balsamic vinaigrette - though not sure if it was because of what was used for balsamic vinegar, or that we are not agave fans.

Each sandwich is served with a yummy pickle and with loose Kettle Chips on the plate. Note - when ordering with gluten-free bread, a bag of chips is included so as to avoid any mixing with gluten. Both impressive and appreciated.

Melt Down carries New Hope Fountain Sodas. The "Skinny" root beer was very good. The "Skinny" diet cola was okay. Son liked the Watermelon Cream flavor soda.

It is a clear your own plate kind of place, though your food is brought to the table, identified through table signs with different cheese names. Cute idea!

We decided to head back and see how we fared on a different night. This time all of our sandwiches had less cheese than we hoped they would. Our order was done incorrectly and was redone properly in a reasonable amount of time - still with less cheese than we thought they should have. (We like the cheese to come close to the edges of the bread so there isn't a mouthful of just bread.)

This is not a fancy place and we will probably go back as it is a nice informal change of pace - even with less cheese than we desired.

We stopped here for lunch on yet another snowy day. It was just the type of day for grilled cheese and tomato soup. This place did not disappoint. It is counter service and a step above fast food in terms of the dining area. There are children in a play area and businessmen dining in this very specialized restaurant. Really all they do is grilled chesse in just about any way you can imagine… and it is yummy.
