Visited on a Sunday late afternoon. Not very crowded, but the kitchen didn't start serving until 4, but it was only about 15 minute wait, so we ordered a drink and looked over the menu. We decided on pizza and we pleased with our choice. Nice brick oven pizza. Liked the spicy honey kick we added for $1.00. Service was good and it really was not all that expensive. Would go again without hesitation. Note there are 2 sides to this restaurant, and you cannot "cross order" so be sure to check out the menus to be sure which side you prefer to try!!

Don't be put off by minimalist decor or Ikea-knockoff tables and chairs. Teresa's is about food, and the food is sublime.

Pick the tiniest detail -- croutons, for example. Never will you have lighter, fluffier croutons than those that grace Teresa's Caesar salad. The star of the salad show at our table, though, was barbabietole -- roasted beets, goat cheese, and pistachios on mixed greens with balsamic reduction.

Artichoke is the national vegetable of Italy, and the list of antipasta offers two versions. We chose braised artichoke halves, which were tasty and, as always, messy.

Segundi plati offer intriguing combinations that will require a few more visits to sample adequately. For our first time seared scallops on a bed of smoked shrimp and English pea risotto won high marks, along with sautéed fluke on farro.

Dining at Teresa's Cafe in Wayne is like dining inside a shoe box. A nice, spiffy shoe box, but still a shoe box. The decor is super minimalist. The only item on one huge wall is the small red fire alarm. The floors are hard, the tables slate, the chairs metal, all contributing to a loud room. It would be a hard place to visit if the food wasn't so good and the service so pleasant. Plenty of pastas and pizzas to satisfy the college crowd. Ah, the college crowd, contributing to a loud room. Plenty of beer choices. What about the older crowd? Some interesting entrees, presented in minimalist fashion. Did the chef design the room too? Some decent choices on the wine list. Our pretty waitress, Daria, helped us overcome the stark decor and the raucous noise. We had a good meal and might return on a weekday night.

We arrived for a casual dinner on a Saturday night. It was busy but we found a place at the bar. It took a little before the bartender came to us and we learned we could order beer from Teresa's Next Door which has an outstanding beer menu. It takes a little longer to get beer since they need to go next door to get them. Once our wonderful beers arrived we ordered dinner. While we were seated at the bar we noticed some glasses that were on a shelf with red spots on them, like a bottle of wine or something spilled on them. Our meals arrived promptly and were delicious. Then we say a bartender come over and take one of the dirty glasses and fill it then serve it to a customer. Really? That was disgusting!
Once we finished our main course the bartender came back and asked if we needed anything else, we ordered dessert and a beer. The bartender appeared to wait until another beer order was placed before getting my beer. It was disappointing that I was served my beer and was nearly finished before the dessert arrived. It took about 20 minutes to receive the dessert.
Overall, the food was excellent and the service was below average, but serving a dirty glass left us worried what else was done.
