Great place to visit on a cold day. Fireplace is warm and welcoming. It is a little pricey, but nice ambiance.

They have an outdoor patio which is awesome and the inside is cute, but definitely not kid freiendly. It does get very loud though.

Food is WAY over priced. $11 for French onion soup that was worth about $5.50. The portions are also small. $14.50 for 5 shrimp lejon.broad refills are$1.50 each, when the server actually shows up to check on you.

Service is consistently poor.

My suggestion, go into West Chester or head further out to The Whip.

Not a huge menu but everything we have had is very good. Make sure you get reservations on weekends

My wife and I went here for lunch with friends. We split a flat bread and a beet salad, and we each had a diet coke. Our tab, without the tip, came to $37. The service was pleasant, and the food was not bad, although the flat bread was served lukewarm and was stone cold after ten minutes. We probably will not return because there are too many fine restaurants in the area where you can get as good or better a lunch for fewer bucks.

The Four Dogs is a local legend, and for good reason. Yes, I'll say right off the bat that it can get pricey. But it's worth it! There's a dining area, a great bar with a wood burning fireplace, outdoor seating with heat lamps for cooler evenings and great music a couple of times per week. The building was build in the 1840's and has maintained much of that charm. The food is anything but cookie-cutter. I highly recommend the following items: Mac'n'Cheese makes a great shared side for the whole table, Margharita Pizza is decadent, Pear Salad w/ Bleu Cheese and Walnuts is a feast, Fish and Chips are top shelf, Turkey burger with Avocado is a nice shift... and the list goes on. No need to dress up, but no one will laugh if you do. Nice for a quick bite or a festive occasion. If you want super nice, go next door to the Marshalton Inn - owned by the same folks.
