“okey dokey”
Reviewed 1 July 2007

We participated in a family reunion in Merion, a leafy Phily suburb. Arrangements at this convenient hotel were made by our host family. The AC worked, the room quiet and clean and the bed comfortable. The hotel is unimaginative but serviceable. Nothing to get excited about, but it was okey dokey.

This place was not worth 109 a night. Besides a comfortable bed, there wasent much more to praise about. There is a 10 dollar parking fee, per night, a 10 internet fee per 24hrs, and the bottle of Evean drinking water is 5 dollars... insane!

We travel alot, and we've had better stays at places that were a third of the cost, and still offered free internet, and parking. oh, and all the free water you would like to drink.

avoid if you have a choice, you can do alot better!

This high-rise hotel is easy to reach near enough the highway exit but not too near to be noisy. They gave us a beautiful room with a view and concierge level access to breakfast and the lounge. Please note we were using Marriott rewards redemption nights and when we used these in St. Thomas they gave us the worst room possible. Check in & check out took 2 minutes. I called up for a cot and it came within 5 minutes. They had fresh lemon water and ice tea at the entrance and the usual gourmet bean coffee in the room. The pool facilities were great with a good-sized pool, hot tub, sauna, and lockers. I didn't use the fitness facilities but there were alot of different cardio machines, free weights, trainer equipment (i.e. exercise ball, karate bag) as they offer training sessions. There are a couple of standing computer terminals and a printer at the reception desk to check email/print boarding passes for free. The rooms and the rest of the property were very clean and updated. The room we stayed in looked newly renovated. There is underground parking with elevator access to the lobby. It is located in a quiet suburb within fifteen minutes of downtown Philly. There are a couple of nice restaurants around the block and a McDonalds, and a Wa-Wa's convenience store across the street. It is safe, and easy to walk to them. Only minor minor issue is the room/pool towels, and bed linens could use some replacing

The hotel was very clean and updated. It felt great to walk into the nicely decorated room! Service was friendly and quick - we asked for extra towels, and they arrived in minutes. There was complimentary lemonade, water, and Hershey kisses in the lobby. The pool was great for our kids, and the locker room was clean.

I attended a business conference here and had a very pleasant stay. The hotel has recently been refurbished and it was very clean and comfortable. I'm a light sleeper but didn't find the hotel to be at all noisy when I was here, and the beds are very comfortable. The location is a $60 taxi ride away from the airport, so don't stay here if you want to see the historic Philadelphia sites. If your travel requires you to be in this area, then this hotel is a good place to stay. Do not pay the full rates, you can get a $125 rate through a travel agent. Ask for a room on a high floor so that you can enjoy the view of the river.

  • Liked — Clean, newly updated rooms, comfortable beds and bedding.
  • Disliked — Second floor room has view of air conditioning and roof.
  • Tips/Secrets — Don't pay full price, get a discounted rate via a travel agency or discount website.

We booked a block of rooms at this hotel for our wedding party and guests - big mistake! Upon check in, credit card authorizations were not on file, room rates were not correct, guests were given the wrong room type. All of the correct information was verified the week before our wedding. What an embarrassment when our guests had to address these issues with us. My husband asked to talk to a manager and s/he would not come out to speak with him. I asked to speak to my event planner contact at the hotel and she did not get back in touch with me during the course of our stay. We went to the front desk 5 times in less then 48 hours to resolve billing issues and time after time, they were not corrected. I wrote a letter to my contact at the hotel and Marriott Corporate and have not seen a reply! I am shocked.

The hotel is in nice shape and the rooms are small but clean. There typically was only 1 or 2 wait staff working in the restaurant so do not expect to get in and out of there. This hotel is ok if you absolutely need the location. Otherwise, spend your money elsewhere.

My husband and I stayed here for one night. He had eye surgery in the area and we needed to stay over night.

The room was very nice. We had 2 double beds. It overlooked the river and the town of Conshohockan. It seemed kind of expensive for the location. We paid about $250 per night.

What really made this hotel stand out was the staff. Everyone was really nice and very helpful. I wanted to go shopping and the woman at the front desk was very helpful with directions and alternate suggestions to avoid the traffic. Every encounter with staff was positive and pleasant.

We ended up having 3 meals in the restaurant. It was fairly typical for a Marriott. The breakfast buffet looked good but we both ordered off the menu. Eggs Benidict was outstanding. When my husband asked for his muffin to be toasted more, it was taken care of promptly.

All in all a good experience...oh by the way...the cookies that are at the Elite Check In table...they are really good!
