“Italian Delight”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 July 2014

Good food and nice portions. We arrived about 5:30, and the place was packed by 6:00.
Service was excellent and the servers were knowledge about a variety of wines.
I will eat here again on the 4th of July! Did I mention the pricing is reasonable.
Don't know much about Wilkes-Barre, but this place is a hit!

“Very disappointing”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 June 2014 via mobile

We arrived about 8 and there only 3 or 4 tables occupied. We ordered the calamari fritto which arrived quickly. However the calamari had the texture and taste of rubber bands, accompanied by a tasteless sauce.
My penne pesto with shrimp had no hint of basil or garlic in the pesto which was a mess of added cream. The shrimp were so overcooked that they were hard lumps hiding in the sauce. My husband's frutti De mare has the same rubber band calamari but he said it was otherwise good.
After our entrees were served we were otherwise ignored. I had to raise my water glass in the air to get more water.
Not a # 3 restaurant IMO.

“More than meets the eye”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 June 2014

We opened the door and were almost in an airplane hangar, with seating groups here and there and bars here and there--this is a facility that can handle a huge crowd and it would not feel crowded. It was, in fact, not busy at all. Dinner is advertised as Italian, but you can have any of your favorites.

We shared a bruchetta and a glass of wine, and found it excellent. Dinner was steak and more than we could eat, but the bartender was very accommodating and made us comfortable. Although it had been raining most of the day, the setting sun poked out as we left. It was a lovely visit.

“Old school and tasty”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 May 2014

Great ambiance and food ... I particularly enjoyed the bruschetta that is brought out along with the Italian bread. The frutti de mare was delicious with a decent amount of seafood. Service was attentive and old school (a good thing).

“May be the Best in the Valley”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 May 2014

We live in New York, but visit my in laws in Wilkes Barre. Cafe Toscana is by far the most consistent dining experience I have had since first visiting Wiles Barre 20 years ago. We dine here three or four times a year and enjoy the experience every time. From the Veal to the generous Salads, "for two" to an extremly fair priced wine by the glass list. Lastly the service staff has stayed together over the years and this is a recipe for consistency and success.

Bravo....
