“Terrific for Family Fun and a Great Value too!”

This venue is at Heritage Hills Golf Resort in York, PA. My wife and I took our two children and our niece and nephew for tubing in January. We bought the regular tubing passes and immediately loved it. In fact we loved it so much we bought a year round pass. We were able to put what we had paid toward the year round pass, and we added the fast pass to it to make the wait a little shorter. The pass includes unlimited tubing, ice skating (you have to rent skates or bring your own), mini golf, and half price laser tag. You also get coupon sheets for each pass you buy that gives you discounts for golf and other things. And the pass is good for one year from when you buy it. There is a restaurant/bar at the facility which has great food and reasonable prices. At the tubing and skating area you'll find a hot chocolate bar, an adult beverage bar (cash only) and several fire pits that the staff keep going with lots of wood. There is also a hotel, and they do offer getaway packages with tubing, skating, golf, etc. Whether you want to bring hot dogs for the fire pit or eat at the restaurant, or whether you're tubing or just watching, there are enough things here to keep everyone happy. Have fun!

Took 12 year old grandson and he and his grandad had a blast despite it being solid ice. You would think all snow may be better but they got and after 8:00pm discount for only $15 per person and on ice it was FAST! My husband would push his tube at the bottom and blast him into the bumpers. I got plenty of action shots.
The lodge was warm and the food look delicious although I didn't eat everyone else enjoyed the food. Only and hour from Baltimore. Will go again. You can spend the night at the hotel in front of the slope but I think after and hour or two they were done. The nice part is having a rope toe you to the top. I'm sure younger kids could go for hours.

6 th trip here from MD Eastern Shore. Always try to go when the weather is cold for the fast hills. This year it was very well organized then it has been in the past. Very happy and may even take a second trip before they close if the weather is good.

Tubing is fun, they have picnic tables, fire pits, ice skating, and reasonable concessions. Tubes are provided. The tow line drags you up the hill or you can walk.Lines move well, maybe 20 minutes max for a round-trip up-down and queue to get back up to the top. It gets a little sloppy in the tubes with melting snow so dont wear you best snow bunny suites/gloves. The tow line is a steel cable that ends up near your face, and then unloading yourself at the top requires you to fall out of the tube. A little common sense will keep you safe, but someone should really show guests a proper method of riding the lift. Speeds vary, we experienced a wide range. At night when its icy you really fly down into the safety barriers. During the day, you may not make it down 2/3 of the way then walk the rest. I'd say under 45 degrees you make it all the way down to the bottom, but over 45 you dont. Still you can fill a day tubing, if you want speed plan on night tubing.

Avalanche Xpress offers plenty of activities for guests of all ages; from snow tubing to ice skating in the rink at the bottom of the mountain to laser tag next door and making s'mores by the crackling fires. My husband and I just returned from our first trip there and really had a great time snow tubing. After a few runs down the mountain, the weather warmed up a bit so we left until the sun set and when we returned, had even more fun. Thankfully the lifts pulled us back up the mountain each time, but when the lines get long, you do have the option to trek up the mountain yourself. (Great workout for the legs!) We didn't eat at the restaurant but did enjoy a "walking taco" from the concession stand, which offered a variety of basic snacks, candies and drinks. **I definitely suggest checking the weather in advance if possible and either going first thing in the morning (less lines) or later in the evening when the sun isn't blaring on the slopes. There is a waiver online that would move the entry process along much faster than filling it out on the computers available in the ticket shop. Also, be cautious of the tube corral as you may get tackled by kids trying to get their tubes!! Overall, the staff we encountered was very friendly and the facility was clean and presentable.
