We stayed at the Yorketown Hotel July 3-5, 2003. The wonderful historic decor in the lobby is breathtaking! The restaurants are beautiful! The food is great! We are still talking about the huge waffles served with strawberries and powdered sugar that covered the entire plate! The customer service is unbeatable. Extremely friendly staff. I believe the manager works 24 hours a day! The only drawback is the original windows give way to very obtrusive traffic noise in the hotel rooms. The manager reassigned us to a different room, but it did not help.
However, the customer service alone, makes this retreat worth the stay!
