“Awesome Winter Surfing Destination”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 October 2013

When I was in college, I would go to Point Judith early in the morning to surf. It's a rock reef break - a little dangerous at the peak or on a big day, but a very nice spot if the waves are good. AND I saw seals many times. Lovely spot anyway, but particularly fun for surfing in Rhode Island (when it's not too crowded).

“Beautiful Setting”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 September 2013

We visited the Point Judith Lighthouse while visiting in Newport. It is a bit difficult to find but worth the trouble to get there. the lighthouse is surrounded by a park that that is on the New York Sound. It would be harder to find a more lovely spot for a lighthouse! It did not appear that you could actully go in to the lighthouse. People picnic on the large rocks near the water. It is a very quiet and serene setting.

“Scenic and relaxing!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 August 2013

My cousin and I were going whale watching last week and were looking for something else to do in Narragansett. We found this lighthouse online and decided to stop by - super cute! It's a small lighthouse. It's gated because it belongs to the coast guard, but you can still go through the gate to get a closer look and go down to the beach. We found that on the beach part, people had built little towers of rocks. Not sure what for or what it means but we joined in and built our own and took pictures. I was hoping to come back here for the sunset, but it was a rainy day and there wasn't much of a sunset. It was a nice detour off our path, but I wouldn't make this the main focus of my trip! I definitely wished we'd brought a little picnic basket with us as we enjoyed the breeze and watched the waves.

“Awesome lighthouse”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 August 2013

We were going back to NY and decided to make the detour from US1. Route 108 will take you there. There is plenty of space to park and the lighthouse is a very cool thing to see. Good place to rest, soak up the view, eat lunch and relax for a bit. There is a small Coast Guard station there as well and the view is superb. This is a freebie. The last American boat to be sunk by a German submarine in WWII went down about four miles from there. One funny thing is that people build rock "pyramids" in the rocky beach next to the lighthouse. Would recommend to anybody who loves the sea.

“Beautiful spot to watch the sunset”

Easy drive, easy free parking. Just a relaxing place to listen to the ocean waves. Bring a picnic basket or have a beer or glass of wine. A place to unwind from the crowded beaches
