“Enjoyable Evening !”

It has something for everyone. Kid friendly ! Two bars and nice variety of oysters that are local. Service was good not exceptional but we were a party 6 with two children. So patience is always needed. The specials were very a great choice. It is a given that a second visit is in the cards !

“Great new place!”
Reviewed 27 April 2014

Have been wanting to try out this place. Luckily they have started serving lunch on the weekends. The calamari was exceptional and I had a red sangria that was awesome. There is something on the menu for everyone - we plan to go back soon for dinner.

Also - read the review entitled "No Parking." there is plenty of parking and on the weekend there is complimentary valet parking to optimize the number of spaces that are available.

“No Parking”
Reviewed 11 April 2014 via mobile

Stopped by to try this place out tonight but unfortunately, never got the chance. The lot offers about 8-10 spaces to self park (which of course were all full) and a very big lot for Valet only. Since it was valet or go-away, we decided to take our business elsewhere. Maybe we'll get to try them some other day.

“Dissapointed”

Why does every newly opened restaurant ignore the successes around it. They all try to re-invent the wheel. This place should be a steak house or a spaghetti joint where a FAMILY can go out for dinner without taking out another mortgage. Serve the BEST around at a fair price and they could turn people away. (Twin Oaks) style food is what would sell here. You don't have to 'gin' things up for these locals. And that's all your gonna get in here is locals. I wish you the best of luck, but without some serious redirection, I don't give you 6 months.
Please! Don't tell me about the ".....Carriage Inn Experience" especially when the owner or manger is walking from table to table with his shirt unbuttoned, and not tucked out asking if everything is as expected. Nice Try! We won't be back until the NEXT owner. These are the same mistakes each owner has made over the last ten years.

“So happy this spot is reopened”
Reviewed 8 March 2014 via mobile

A spur of the moment dinner with the kids and grandkids, and we wanted to try Carriage Inn since it had recently opened in a great location formally occupied by another restaurant. The new owners really fixed the place up, the bar area is very nice with ample seating, there is a small, but nice raw bar area, and the feeling is warm and friendly; the valet parking was nice, too, especially on a cold night. According to my husband the raw oysters were great, I don't eat those, but he knows his raw seafood, so that's a good review. We ordered the Narragansett clams as an appetizer for the table and there was enough for a everyone to have a taste. They were fresh and prepared with chorizo in tasty broth. The kids ordered from the nice kids menu and chose Mac and cheese, pasta and meatballs and calamari. All were declared fantastic, with the Mac and cheese given a "best ever" by our soon to be 5 year old granddaughter. The 4 adults all had prime rib, which came in 3 size portion options, and was perfectly cooked to order thanks to their Alto-Shaam oven which is just awesome for cooking and keeping beef at perfect temperatures. The entree's come with choice of two sides, and the menu has suggested paring for sauces and wine/drinks. Oh, and the kids meals also come with dessert - a warm and delicious brownie sundae was the choice for our grandkids. The adults were appreciative of the bite each was willing to share!

The restaurant is pretty big so even on Friday night, at 6:00 pm with 7 people we had only a 20 minute wait. For those of us who live in the South (Washington) County area, it is great to have this space in use again. The staff was very friendly, our server was attentive, and she she knew the menu - a big plus in my opinion. The server also asked if she should bring the children's dinner sooner, which while not necessary for our gang, was a much appreciated question. We will definitely go back.
