Il Fornello is a great local restaurant. The food was quite good. My wife had Salmon and I had a pasta dish. Good portions. My wife thought her pear martini was one of the best she has ever had.
Tucked away on a side street in North Providence, it is worth the trip from city center of Providence.
The food and service is very good. The restaurant is small, so make a reservation. You won't be disappointed. I especially liked the variety of pasta dishes on the menu. Different and delicious.
This is a locally owned Italian restaurant, small inside, not a large dining area. Food is good and they usually have good specials as well. Very reasonably priced, portion size is generous. Homemade bread is delicious. You will not be disappointed. They will accommodate any special request to change a dinner item to your liking.
We had reservations so sat quickly but I strongly suggest you make them, because people were in line outside the door. When seated we were brought foccacia bread and olive oil was on the table. I could have made a meal out of the bread! Appetizers were mozzerella triangles, ricotta and proscuitto rolled in fried eggplant and calamari which I generally don't like, but this was good! The salad was just blah and if I had eaten it, I would not have eaten the main course. Maybe a different dressing? I ordered veal parmesean with penne the sauce was very good and they gave you a huge piece of veal. My husband had ravioli with a side of meatballs, the only complaint he had was the ravioli could have been cooked a tad more but overall he was happy with his meal. My brother in law had Fruitti de Mare and it escapes me what my sister had something with pasta. We all raved about the food! Dessert tiramisu served in a glass cup awesome! And my sister had a lemon/blueberry cake with marscapone cheese. It looked good. Needless to say we brought home plenty of leftovers as there was so much food. I will definitely be back here! They also had a full bar. There were numerous specials and decorated very nicely!
