My family rented the Capt. Cory house and the Old Schoolhouse #1 for a trip to RI to attend our sons law school graduation. We were thrilled with both rentals. They were both very clean, well appointed, updated and yet held onto their historic past and character. Kristin was an absolute pleasure to work with and bent over backward to accommodate our requests and answer any questions. The fresh eggs and preserves from her family's nearby farm stand were a treat. We could not be more pleased with our decision to rent these two beautiful homes. We highly recommend both. Go and enjoy.
This was a home away from home with intriguing historical artifacts around every corner, on wall, bookshelves, etc. Thank you for allowing us to stay in your beautiful school house. The owners were available whenever we needed them and the property was educational and entertaining with the farm right next door. The fresh baked scones, jam and fresh eggs were a sweet bonus! We we inspired by the surrounding countryside and enjoyed seeing the many facets of Rhode Island. We were not disappointed and of course we rang the bell upon our departure. Very sad to leave. :)
We stayed at the Old School House over New Year's Eve and had a great time. It has many wonderful details, such as a rope to ring the big bell in the belfry, lots of books on old one-room school houses scattered around, and a great fireplace. While the exterior of the house appears old, the inside is recently renovated and comfortable.
Tiverton is also a wonderful town to explore. We brought our bikes in order to tour this classic New England farm town and see the windy shoreline. We also took a walk on the Weetamoo trail, which we discovered less than a mile from the Old School House. Sadly, since we were here off season we missed out on the Sakonnet Farm eggs!
A magical stay in the late 1800s with all the comforts and modern luxuries of 2016. Brilliantly renovated one room school house with charming farm stand two doors down. For those who love animals, there's a beautiful farm full of goats, ducks, chickens, peacocks, and a cute incredibly fat pig waiting to be spoiled with treats just behind the farm stand. We had so much fun!
