My girlfriend and I spent the weekend recently in the Mariner's Suite. The room (and Jacuzzi) was fabulous. Mary Ann and Jeff's hospitality and willingness to go the extra mile for our getaway weekend was greatly appreciated. I can't wait for the next visit....;-)

We choose the Cuthbert House Inn because of the favorable reviews on TripAdvisor and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. In fact, we stayed an extra day due to the charm of the inn and the hospitality of the hosts, Mary Ann and Jeff. Mary Ann met us at the door when we arrived and showed us several different rooms but we decided on the Victoria Room due to it's size and the view of the waterway from the bedroom and bathroom. The Inn is just blocks from the waterfront so it was perfect because my wife was suffering from tendonitis in her foot. We had an opportunity to visit with Mary Ann and Jeff and another couple from NC during the mixer between 5-6 which included beverages and snacks and they recommended a resturant which served some of the most delicious seafood we have ever tasted (11th Street Dockside in Port Royal). Ask Jeff to show you the names of the Union Soldiers which are etched into the mantel on the fireplace in the East Lake Suite. Breakfast was eggs benedict one morning and belgium waffles the next. We were also served fresh fruit, juice and coffee as well. The dining room is comfortable but not cramped. Again, you can view the waterway from the dining room. The parking is off street and you walk through a small formal garden when you enter the back of the Inn. We also took a day trip to Hunting Island State Park which is approx. a 20 minute drive so very convenient if you choose to go to one of the barrier islands in the area. My wife and I penciled in Beaufort, SC on our itenerary when we were doing research for our trip from Jacksonville to Charleston. After more investigation, we were convinced it would be a pleasant diversion from Savannah and Charleston and we were not disappointed!

The Mariners Suite at Cuthbert House was one of the nicest lodgings we have ever expereinced-just perfect we hated to leave..Our hosts were wonderful and add to that yummy breakfasts, lively social hours and lovely Beaufort.
We wish we did not live so far away so we could visit more often.
A perfect Inn.

The Cuthbert House Inn is a solid, 4-star bed and breakfast experience. The evening social hour is a special touch, which creates a warm and cozy atmosphere. The rooms are large and tastefully decorated. All of the downtown historical area is but a short stroll away.

Breakfast is not a particular highlight and having to choose a specific time to eat is a bit annoying. There are not enough extra touches to make it a 5-star inn, but overall the stay was quite enjoyable.

Choose the Eastlake Suite, if available. The water views from the 2d floor rooms are obscured by moss-laden trees.

just to say how the owners or the keepers of this wonderful place ,open their doors and heart to every guest ,and had an open mind to each of their personal needs and their expections. the hostitalty was outstanding, mary and jeff were warn and compassion. doing social hours between 5 and 6pm each day, we the guests had and an opportunity to give some feedback, every moring mary or jeff would greet each guest in the breakfast area with a wonderful hot coffee and nice glass of fruit. plus the the tastful breakfast. and offer helpful hints for that day and sugest siteseeing area. Cuthbert House is to see and experience the assence of history and the beauty of how it comes together, oh it the frist time for me. will I return? yes. it is beauty to every eye that receive it.------thanks -- mary&jeff. I admire your ability to bring the travel channel to life for me. only the eyes that travel can see history and the culture difference and embrass it.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Lou.

The Cuthbert House is a great example of a traditional southern home located along the river in downtown Beaufort. The room was comfortable complete with high ceilings ,a gas log fire place and four poster bed. The hosts Jeff & Mary-ann provided us with an much needed escape from the stress and the routine of our everyday lifes. The 5:00 social hour was a great touch complete with a nice glass of wine and some light muncies to take the edge off. This also provided us the opportuntity to meet the other guests staying in the house. We had a great weekend and look forward to our next visit.

My wife and I recently spent our 5th wedding anniversary in Beaufort and had an exceptional stay at the Cuthbert House Inn. The home is absolutely beautiful and very well-kept, and the innkeepers were very accommodating. We stayed in the Federal room which had a nice porch overlooking the waterway just outside of the door. The room and bathroom were both very clean, and the working gas fireplace was a great feature. The breakfasts were very good, and the evening receptions are a nice touch. We enjoyed sharing wine with Jeff, who had many good dinner recommendations. This was our first trip to Beaufort and we will definitely be back and will stay at the Cuthbert House Inn.
