Like many heading down or up I 95 we look for interesting stops
Beaufort. SC is not far from I 95 and this B and B is beautiful and well located.
We had the ground floor Green Room
The Inn is a short drive to downtown and riverside restaurants and Main Street shops.
Kelvin was a helpful and friendly host.

Room Tip: If you do not like stairs try the Green Room

The North Street Inn, B&B, is perfectly located for a stay in lovely Beaufort, SC. We met friends there and were able to walk from the Inn to anywhere in town. And yet, we were never disturbed by noisy cars or trucks. Only the morning and evening clip-clop of the carriages and horses disturbed the quiet chirping of the birds and squeak of the porch rockers.
The North Street Inn has a storybook charm, with pink shingles and delicate green vines entwining the porch pillars. Inside is equally lovely. The rooms are large, with high ceilings and comfortable as well as handsome, antique furnishings. Happily, the lighting and seating were perfect for quiet reading - a real "must" in a thoughtfully appointed room. Our bathroom was quaint but lovely - tiny white ceramic tiles, pedestal sink, fluffy, white towels and lace curtains.
The innkeeper, Kevin Mears, prepared delicious breakfasts; we were there 4 nights. The individual spinach quiches with fresh, blueberry muffins were a perfect way to begin a day of Southern-style sightseeing. Other mornings Kevin served up fresh waffles and fruit, scrambled eggs and wonderful coffee and juice.
What makes the North Street Inn most delightful is the innkeeper. He is quietly gracious and careful not to intrude on his guests' "playtime." Even when faced with the necessity of a repairman's visit, Kevin made sure we were not disturbed or inconvenienced.
If Southern Hospitality is what you're looking for, the North Street Inn in Beaufort, South Carolina, can go to the top of your list. Oh, and by the way, the Inn is a real bargain!

We had a wonderful stay at the North Street Inn. Our host was extremely knowledgeable about Beaufort and the history of the whole area. He recommended restaurants and historical places to visit as well as an Egret Rookery which was fascinating! Every morning we had something delicious and different from the previous day. We enjoyed chatting with the other guests and were so delighted they were history buffs too. It was a short and pleasant walk to downtown Beaufort, and we loved looking at the gorgeous houses and the waterfront on our route. Our room was beautiful and very quiet (which is very important to us.) I would highly recommend this inn to anyone who likes a quiet, lovely home that is walking distance of downtown and a place with delicious, hearty breakfasts and a wonderful host.

Room Tip: Our room was lovely--it had a border of magnolias painted by Kevin's aunt. It was upstairs and...

My wife and I stayed at The North Street Inn on a beautiful weekend in the bustling historic district of downtown Beaufort. Beaufort is the second oldest established city in South Carolina. Like its competition from Charleston, Beaufort is a sleepy, yet gorgeous community full of Antebellum mansions, plantations and coastal farms. The proprioter Kevin welcomes you with open arms and is ready to make you feel right at home. He made me sweet tea which was delicious and refreshing for this good ol Southern boy. The bathrooms need some updating and refreshing but the bed was soft and comfortable. Kevin's breakfasts were scrumptous. The waffles were amazing. The rate was ideal for our budget and the amenities amicable too. The inn is a few blocks from the shopping and restaurants of downtown, but definitely close enough to walk and enjoy the coastal lowcountry breezes. It was only 20 miles from the beautiful Hunting Island beach. Thanks Kevin for the memorable weekend in Beaufort!

Room Tip: We stayed in the yellow room upstairs and it was probably warmer than the room on the ground floor.

This B and B is well situated just one block back from the riverside and is within a good walk of the historic area of Beaufort. However, its general lackluster appearance from the outside was a little off putting. The garden area is not at all well tended and as we entered through the back door at the owner's invitation did not give a good first impression. The interior was clean and our room, the ground floor Green Room was clean and comfortable although it lacked any of the little extras we have come to expect from B and Bs. There were no drink facilities or bottles of water, no snacks and the bathroom requisites were minimal to say the least. Breakfast was simply served but was a nourishing meal. The blueberry muffins were out of this world though. We enjoyed good conversation with the two other guests and Kevin the owner who was well informed on the history of the area and the house.

We stayed overnight in this charming B&B on our way between Savannah and Charleston. In fact, we should have stayed longer in beautiful Beaufort and kind Kevin's North Inn.
Absolutely to be recommended! Felt like home...

Recently visited the North Street Inn while on a weekend motorcycle junket to Beaufort, SC and found this inn to be charming, comfortable, and clean. Our host, Kevin, was very welcoming and hospitable. He was well informed on the history of the home (circa 1907) and Beaufort area in general which allowed us to enjoy more of our time. The inn is just a leisurely stroll down to all that's happening in the historic district. The breakfast served was excellent as well. My only recommendation would be to have coffee available earlier in the morning. We will definitely stay here again when in Beaufort.
