Spent two wonderful and much needed getaway days at the beautiful Francis Marion Hotel. Great view from the 11th floor with the best sunrise wakeup call. Loved the "his and hers" bathrooms. Very friendly and helpful staff with great dining referrals. Central location and walking distance to great dining, sightseeing and shopping. Thank you for a memorable stay! We will be back!

Went for anniv. weekend. Staff very nice. Location was great-can walk to restaurants, and park was across the street. Bed was comfortable and view of harbour/bridge was very nice. Only complaint was TINY bathroom! It had pedaltal sink and there was no storage-always had to take my bag in/out. Grout, paint showing wear. Nice hotel but a bit pricey. Next time will stay closer to water.

Room Tip: Ask for room with view of harbour if you can get one. The view on other side is back of bldg.

Stayed here for a week long business trip. The hotel is historic and as such you should expect an older hotel that has been kept up. Check in went fine but wasn't that friendly. It was restaurant week when I stayed and while other people were offered maps of Charleston and menus options I wasn't offered anything.

The room had two bathrooms and closets which was bizarre. The room itself was relatively clean and nice, but old. There's a starbucks in the lobby which is a huge plus.

The big plus for this hotel is the location. It's right in the middle of everything. Really an amazing location for Charleston.

As long as you go expecting an older hotel and adequate service you'll be fine. Just know the location is fantastic.

I cannot speak highly enough about this hotel and its staff!
I travel often enough for work and the price to return from this hotel it tough to beat.
The hotel has lots of historical charm while maintaining all the amenities expected in a new hotel. The room had excellent WiFi and great 4G signal. Flat screen television with LOTS of channels to chose from. The bed was VERY comfortable. The room had plenty of lighting. The bathroom was older but very respectable. An over all comfortable room for the 4 nights I was there.
The staff was the best I have experienced in a long time. Very friendly and willing to be of assistance. The "behind the scenes" staff was exceptional too. I was there for a convention and the technical staff in the conference rooms was very knowledgeable. The catering staff was prompt and courteous with keeping the food fresh and the liquids topped off. The cleaning staff was very friendly and willing to do whatever it took to make the stay enjoyable. The front desk was a delight - excellent light conversation and offerings for food/sights to see. The training of the staff was very effective and obvious that they take pride in their jobs!
The location of the hotel was perfect! A very nice park across the street, King Street's shopping and dining was within walking distance, and lots of sights were also nearby. The onsite restaurant, spa, and Starbucks offered conveniences that were appreciated.
Southern hospitality and fun can be had by all at this hotel!

Loved the location across from Marion Square Park. Had a great view. The staff seemed average - no one inside the hotel seemed to LOVE their jobs. I like the classic feel of the rooms. The bathrooms are the size of a postage stamp, but adequate. The food was pretty good and not overpriced. I loved the Starbucks downstairs. The internet access was TERRIBLE in both my room and the conference rooms. That was my primary complaint. Still, a good, classic hotel in a classic city.

Room Tip: Room 700 was great - awesome view of Marion Square Park.

This is not a luxury hotel, but it is very nice. The rooms are spacious and clean and quiet, and the location is excellent. For the price, this is a very good choice for a place to stay in Charleston.
