Was fortunate to get a king room with a balcony (1 of 4 at the hotel??). Very nice room - no complaints. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Location is excellent.

I wasn't too happy that we paid $275 a night for a hotel without a pool, larger room, and a 20" tube television in the room. The pros were that the service was excellent, hotel was clean, and location was great.

Dear Jeff,

Thank you for the comments on your recent stay. We especially enjoyed reading the coments about our exceptional service and the cleanliness of our hotel. We take great pride in both areas. Regarding pools downtown, pools are a rarity in most hotels as many of our guests choose to take a quick drive to Isle of Palms, Sullivan's Island and Folly Beach for aquatic activities-all just a short drive away. Of course, our location is ideal for those wishing to enjoy the exquisite dining of restaurants such as Peninsula Grill, Hank's Seafood Restaurant and Mercato Italian to name a few-and, all located on or adjacent to the famed Old City Market. We also have some of the largest suites in the historic district and invite you to try one of them on your next visit.

Thank you again for your comments and we look forward to your return.

Our first stay at this hotel and found it to be just as nice or nicer than several other higher end B & B's and hotels in Charleston. Most courteous staff and prompt service!! Our room had a balcony and was located in the rear building...we never heard a sound from anyone else. We are planning a return trip in August and have request the same accomodations if possible. We will recommend the Doubletree to all of our friends traveling to Charleston!!

Thank you for your kind note, and, we are all very pleased your birthday weekend was spent with us. We look forward to your return to us in August. You and I met as you were departing on Sunday morning and I enjoyed speaking with you. Our city market (recently renovated) is the perfect location that we overlook in the historic district. Hank's Seafood is consistently rated the finest seafood restaurant in the city and hope you will be able to dine there in August. Thank you again for your kind note. The note will be shared with our team today.

Sincerely,

Let me start by saying that we booked this hotel for a 2 night stay through Priceline.com & got a great rate. Upon checkin we were assigned a small room with no desk & only 1 straight back chair that we used as a luggage rack since there was no room to put the regular luggage rack. There also was no coffee maker in the room but housekeeping brought us one after we contacted the front desk. We thought that we were given such a small room (even though we are members of the Hilton HHonors Club) because we had reserved through Priceline. When our room was serviced after the first night, our coffee was not replenished, the ice bucket was not cleaned nor were the water glasses replaced. We are wondering if this is just normal for a Priceline.com customer or if it was just bad housekeeping. Even though our stay was not the most comfortable, the location of this hotel was excellent.

Thank you for submitting a review on our hotel. We agree with you our location is the best in the Historic Section of Charleston being at the Old City Market and within walking distance to many of the areas most amazing attractions including the Battery, Historic Gardens and Houses you can tour, not to mention, being able to take a horse and carriage ride through the city picking up the carriage ride in front of our hotel! Please take a look at our suite options when booking your next visit. We have some of the largest in the city and will give you the extra room you seek.

We look very much forward to your return.

Cheers,

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Double Tree in downtown historic Charleston for our anniversary and had a very pleasureable experience. The hotel staff was very friendly and the hotel itself was comfortable as well as beautiful.

Thank you for your nice comments regarding your stay here at the Doubletree Charleston Historic District. We appreciate your noticing the level of hotel we offer, and, in the past year we have invested quite a sum of money to make sure our guests enjoy modern conveniences such as flat screen televisions, granite counter tops and our award winning "sweet dreams" bedding package. We hope you enjoyed our city market location-something everyone should consider when choosing Charleston as anywhere else is just not the same experience.

Thank you again for your comments, and, we look very much forward to your return visit.

Warm regards,
