Staff was friendly. I was able to get an early check in as I was moving my daughter from one apartment to another. I was also able to get a late check out. Free parking. Rooms are ok. It's not the Hilton. Best Hotel location in Charleston! I couldn't have been happier.

Room Tip: We were on the South side. Very quiet but dark. Great to sleep in!!!

This hotel cannot be beat. By far the most affordable hotel in charleston. The location is great. The hotel has free parking which is an other plus. They even let usleave our car after we checked out to explore. I have stayed here a few different times and each time the staff was friendly and had a clean room, what else do you need.

You know what you're getting when you book this hotel: great location at a fraction of the price!

Based by the looks of the other hotels in the area I'd say saving the few bucks here was definitely worth it, if you're taking a short trip!

The rooms albeit lacking in draining tubs and comfortable beds, were not the worst! I recommend bringing Clorox wipes 2 make sure everything is clean to your liking -- our tub only need two passes with the wipes and was 100% better!

Overall Charleston smells like horse manure so you really won't feel clean until you leave! Either way this hotel is great bang for your buck in the most desirable location within walking distance to everything!

You can't beat the location and the price. Free parking and you can walk everywhere. Many great restaurants and attractions are nearby. They also have a breakfast place on site that is pretty decent. My only complaint is there is no sleep timer on the tv.

I was very nervous about staying here after reading some poor reviews. However, we were in Charleston for a wedding and needed a budget friendly hotel and this seemed to be the only affordable option in town. First of all, the location can't be beat. Walking distance to everything we needed- the market area, carriage tours, waterfront, restaurants, etc. The parking is great. The lot was full one night and they allowed to park in the ramp directly across the street and then reimbursed us for it ($20). The staff was fine- not overly friendly but fine. We wanted to check in a few hours early and they did not allow us- check in is at 4pm. Check out is 11am but we were allowed to keep our car parked in the lot until 2pm, which was great for a little last minute sightseeing before we left. The rooms were clean and acceptable. It is not modern and the rooms are small and outdated- but clean. We didn't spend any time in them other to sleep, so it was perfect for us. Overall, I would recommend this hotel for a budget traveler looking for a great location and free parking! Plus, breakfast at the restaurant attached to the hotel called Toast was excellent!

Room Tip: We asked for an updated room on the 2nd floor. First floor rooms are at street level and seemed loud...

The good: There is an outdoor pool. The property is located in the middle of the historic district. If you are interested in the Civil War stuff, history in general, the market, or the aquarium, this hotel is centrally located. Very convenient to the cruise terminal and Port of Charleston. Great shopping in walking distance. There are many great restaurants in easy walking distance, and a Harris Teeter (Grocery Store) about 3/4 of a mile away. The price cannot be beat in this area of town. Other nearby hotels are 2x-3x as expensive. The front desk attendant was friendly and helpful, and supplied us with a giant pile of towels on requests. There were lovely flowers around the second-storey railings. Free wifi worked well.

The not-so-good: The hotel is in need of an update--the comforters are not exactly attractive, the carpet is not the cleanest, and yes, you will find stains and small holes in the bathroom walls. The parking lot is not adequate to the size of the property--if you arrive late and the hotel is full, you will have to park in a paid garage around the corner, but the hotel will reimburse you. There is no free breakfast, but there are so many good restaurants around.

All things considered, we would DEFINITELY stay here again when in Charleston. It's a great location, nice staff, and the most affordable place in the area.

Room Tip: There are two stories, no elevator, exterior entrances.
