If you are willing to put up with a lot of negatives, this Days Inn is one of the best bargains in Charleston. Located on Meeting Street with free parking, this is the perfect location to walk everywhere. There was a workman doing repairs with a loud generator on 8/17/14 from about 10pm -1am which was pretty annoying but the air conditioner pretty much drowned out the sounds. The room was a bit dirty (I cleaned & Lysoled everything), the mattresses were fair but the air conditioner worked great. There were no hangers in the room. I told the front desk and she asked me to request some from the maid. I did and they never came. The toilet was running and I asked for service and this was promptly fixed. The toilet stopped up and the desk clerk ran a plunger up to the room. The coffee is good at the front desk but there was NO free breakfast. The people working the hotel seemed overworked and underpaid & I felt sorry for them. It's not their fault they work in such an old and run-down motel. Though, they really were very nice and helpful. If you check out of the hotel, you can still leave your car in free parking until 2pm which is great because parking is at a premium in Charleston. Would I stay here again? Probably not, unless I was a poor college student again.
GREAT LOCATION & PRICE BUT NOT THAT GREAT OF A PLACE! We got what we paid for so I can't complain.

Stayed: August 2014

This is a great deal if you are on a budget. Are the rooms small? Absolutely! Is everything cramped? Yes is the location great ? YEP! Do you get free parking. Yep!!! Go for it if your budget is tight. As an added plus the on site Restaurant named toast serves up a solid breakfast. Not for your honeymoon but still a respectable choice

Clean but older hotel in a great location . Free parking, very nice staff. Not for romance or luxury but far better than expected. Exterior has old charm with lovely flowers . Pool older so no steps just ladders but was refreshing in Charleston August heat. Rooms small but king bed welcoming.
