“A Perfect Small Hotel”
Reviewed 4 March 2013

A small hotel with class. Comfortable, clean. Wonderful service. Great location.
Staff member got our party of four a reservation at the famous "Magnolia" restaurant. We had tried to book on-line and were told it was full up.

Have parking accommodations which is important in Charleston as parking space is at a premium.

Our first choice for a place to stay in Charleston!!!

We were greeted on arrival at the Andrew Pinckney Inn by a valet/bellman who already had our registration and room # and was prepared to immediately take our luggage to our room. Our vehicle was parked on site and the $20.00 charge is typical of the area, and included in and out privileges, The reception area was an elegant, intimate living room setting staffed with Sandy, the registration associate and concierge. This boutique, 44 room renovated historic hotel provided us with everything we hoped for and more. Our room was spacious, the bedding exceptional. The only less than perfect part of our stay was the poor service at the rooftop breakfast area, which was quite lovely but was marred by the dirty tables and food and beverages not being refilled by the attendant(s), who were not taking care of business. We would stay at the Andrew Pinckney Inn again in a heartbeat.

Thank you for taking the time to post comments of your recent stay at the Andrew Pinckney Inn. It is great to know that you enjoyed one of our most recently added services in the Valet welcoming and parking at the Inn. Please accept or apologizes for the less than perfect service experienced on our beautiful Rooftop Terrace during breakfast. We will offer no excuse but will review and promise to improve so that any such concerns do not repeat themselves in the future.

We were only in town for one night but from the time we got here the staff couldnt do enough for us. We didnt have to lift a finger. So helpful with finding us a nice place to eat and things to do. Room was clean and beds were comfortable. Within walking distance of the market and tours.

Was only in for one night but still wanted a nice place to stay. We had a two-floor townhouse, which provided great room and included its own balcony. Views are limited but still a very nice place to spend the night. Breakfast was very good and a lot more than just a danish and a cup of coffee.

Room Tip: Townhouse was worth the price.

We are delighted to know that you enjoyed the spacious Townhouse accommodations on your recent visit. As you mentioned the location of the Andrew Pinckney Inn is most convenient to shopping, dinning and tours of the historic district. We hope that you will return for a more lengthy stay in the future.

When you walk into this place, you feel as though you are someone special. Our room was not the largest, but clean as could be.The ladies that take care of the breakfast,on the roof where great and where nice to talk to. The hotel is old so yes you will here street noise, because of the age, but the location is about as good as it gets. I would go back, and recommend to anybody that is looking for charming, but not resort like. THANKS to the staff

We have never met a more welcoming, professional or accommodating staff. The Inn is charming, the renovated rooms are lovely and comfortable. The "expanded" breakfast is as complete as any full breakfast and was freshly cooked as well as delicious. Location was perfect for walking anywhere in the historic district but the trolley or buses are close if wanted.

Room Tip: Avoid rooms under the breakfast terrace

I stayed here with my girlfriends for a girls' weekend and it was great. We booked through an external booking website, and although there was mix up with the room types, Sandy at reception did everything he could to make things right. The inn is fantastic, as is the staff. Stellar breakfast is included each morning. The rooms are very nice, as are the bathrooms. Beds are comfortable. My only suggestion would be to make sure and ask for a outside facing room so that you'll have a window. The interior rooms don't have windows. The hotel couldn't be in a better location for walking everywhere in the city. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone.

Room Tip: Ask for an exterior facing room so that you'll have a window.
