This hotel has a fantastic location in central downtown Charleston. The staff are very helpful, especially Andre, who arranged tours for us and gave us directions. The cookies and chilled drinks were a nice touch. This is an old building with wooden floors, so sound-proofing is limited, on our first day we were woken up early when our upstairs neighbours left. The wine and cheese was excellent and a great opportunity to meet the other guests. Breakfast was also very good with a wide selection. My only comment is the location for the wine and cheese and breakfast whilst lovely on the roof terrace didn't have enough space for all the guests. The room was very clean and a good size. Our room overlooked the road. The road noise was limited, although as stated above limited sound-proofing did mean high levels of noise. I would definitely stay here next time I visit Charleston.

Room Tip: Higher rooms may result in less noise from neighbours.

Thank you for taking the time to post the kind words of your recent stay at the Andrew Pinckney Inn. We were excited to read your comments of our recently added seasonal afternoon wine and cheese reception. As you mentioned our Rooftop Terrace is a real jewel In the heart of the historic district.

We were there from June 16th through June 20th and the internet service was a challenge. A few times we went to the front desk for assistance about lack of internet connectivity. The employees in the hotel lobby were very stoic in their demeanor. I wasn't impressed with their hospitality. The maid and the valet were the only ones who showed warmth. Everyone else employed there seemed to have a chip on their shoulder. The hotel itself is situated in the heart of Charleston and within walking distance of everything. I enjoyed our room but service is lacking. We went to breakfast at 9:45 and the breakfast continues until 10:30, but when we arrived the egg dish was empty (both trays) and the fruit was minimal. Maybe they need a female employee working alongside the male employees, which could bring some compassion towards the guests. P.S. A smile goes a long way and I saw very few smiles in the lobby. Should have elevators in both buildings, not just one. B Dodson

Room Tip: I enjoyed our suite and its décor. Very beautiful room.

It is very disappointing to hear that you were not most pleased with your recent stay. We certainly apologize for the inconvenience you experienced with the wireless internet as you mentioned there were a few issues that were the result of our cable provider and failure of equipment due to a storm the day of your arrival that was not discovered to the following day. Obviously we had the equipment replaced immediately upon the discovery of its failure. We hope that you will give us the opportunity to exceed your expectations in the future.

Inn is small, quaint and charming and has a good location, service was good, not great compared to similar properties in the area. Room was small but well appointed with the exception of the TV. First night was great, second night was very noisy, particularly in the early morning hours. Would have liked to have had an in room safe typically found at similar properties. Overall visit was good

Very friendly staff. The bell man Aaron was one of the best. He was extremely helpful in directions and valet. The deskman knew everything. Very helpful. The Inn was in a great place in all directions. Breakfast was kinda of plane, same thing of biscuits and gravy every morning. Plus my girlfriend said the bagel was as hard as a rock. You had to get there early or no seats where available. They also had a wine and cheese hour that was nice. Overall it was a great experience.

This is quite a nice small boutique hotel in fabulous Charleston. We were given a very warm welcome on arrival and the car valet guy and the guy who took us over to our room were unbeatable for hospitality. The beds were very high (I almost needed a step to get up there), however there were a couple of things the hotel could do to improve. Firstly to provide tea and coffee making facilities and a couple of bottles of complimentary water perhaps. The hotel does provide them over in reception, not only are they in a different building though, they're actually over the road! Apparently there are some drinks somewhere in the building we were in but we couldn't find them! Another issue is, I don't recommend you have room 303 as they must start to get breakfast ready at about 5 am and they wake you up dragging the furniture or something heavy around. This process is so noisy, you don't go back to sleep.
The other thing is that the bathroom is tiny and the shower is a bath one with a shower curtain.......no self respecting hotel still uses shower curtains....surely.
However I must say the complementary breakfast was superb and the fresh fruit salad, one of the best I've ever had. The serving staff at breakfast were wonderful and took their time to explain such things as "gravy and biscuits" a southern breakfast delicacy.
The staff on reception were very obliging and helped us with our activities for the day, they made everything so easy. All of the staff we came across were an absolute asset to the hotel and couldn't be better.
While you're in Charleston see Ken Wilkinson who works on the horse and carriage stand just up the road from the hotel (the hotel will supply you with money off vouchers) he is so interesting and knowledgeable on the history of Charleston.

First time visitors to Charleston. We relied on previous reviews and we're not disappointed. Charming, elegant, priced right; caring, concerned staff of knowledgable professionals from checkin to car valet to wait staff all top notch! They recommended restaurants, carriage rides, places of interest all done with an obvious concern to please the customer-smiling, courteous and àlways helpful. It!s easy to get around due to it's prime spot accessing eateries, historical landmarks etc. Overall a big Thanks and Thumbs up for a wonderful experience.

we stayed here for 4 days and it's a great location, very nice rooms and a great breakfast. We also found the staff very helpful . They gave us great advise about local restaurants and also exploring the intracoastal waterway - especially the ACE basin and Hunting Island. WE stayed on.the 4th floor, which is were the terrace is located for breakfast and afternoon wine, and cheese. ASk for a room away from the elevator and it will be quiet.

Room Tip: 4th floor, in the new section which is away from the elevator and terrace
