“Quaint, quiet hotel close to Market and Historic District”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 July 2014

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It had a nice old style feel with modern amenities (elevator, WIFI, TV, etc.) It especially helped to have valet parking since parking downtown is quite expensive. The king size bed was certainly nice; the room was small but worked well for me and my wife.

The continental breakfast on the rooftop was certainly a bonus with some great views. All in all, we were wanting a one-night hotel that was high class for our stay in Charleston. This hotel met our satisfaction for that trip.

Stayed here for 2 nights in July. Very good location next to the flea market and horse carriage tours. We were in the building across from the main building. Stayed in a 2 bed double room. It was very small, but very nice. It was clean, comfortable beds, nice bathroom.

The breakfast on the rooftop was very nice, lots of healthy options. Wine hour at 4-5pm very nice as well, great snacks and cheese. served. Lobby has complimentary water and lemonade, coffee and tea. As well as cookies. Staff was nice.

Overall a nice stay, only complaint would be the small room.

The Andrew Pinckney Inn, built in the 1800's is wonderful place to stay. The staff was very friendly and informative, the lobby had cucumber water and lemonade available for free, which was very refreshing on a July day in Charleston. The rooms were excellent and very charming. It is located within very comfortable walking distance of everything in Historic Charleston. Continental breakfast was on the 2nd floor on an outside balcony with excellent views! We had a wonderful time!

Perfect location to walk to the markets and restaurants, parks and waterfront.
Breakfast is included and served on the roof-top -- nice. Friendly and helpful front desk, and valet. (Nice rooms, but the a/c in the room was a little loud.)

We enjoyed our stay at this boutique hotel. Service was great and staff was friendly and helpful. Everything was in walking distance. Our room and the hotel was lovely! Breakfast and wine and cheese on the fourth floor terrace was well done. We enjoyed our stay!!

Room Tip: We had a room on the third floor and it was perfect!

This was my first stay at a boutique hotel and this is my first ever review on trip advisor but I felt I needed to let our experience be known. Their advertising indicates the inn overlooks Charleston's famed market district so we expected a view of the area...not to be. Our room location was terrible...on ground level adjacent to the driveway & valet parking with both the service supply area & stairs leading to upper level rooms directly outside our door. This had us keeping the blinds closed on the only window in the room creating a very dark, gloomy atmosphere...not at all like the photo of the room shown in their ads. This was the only option to keep some privacy as all could see into the room clearly & hear each noise outside creating an uncomfortable feeling. Although they provide a nice but small breakfast...you have to walk across the street & take the elevator to an outside rooftop. Our reservation was made 1 1/2 months in advance & we arrived early so no last minute decision...yet our room was dark and dingy. Shower only...no bath tub. After a long, busy day I had hoped to soak a bit but never thought to ask if the room had a tub. While the staff was pleasant when I asked about the historic St. Mary's Church they did not know of it...yet when we checked online we discovered it was just 2 short blocks away! It was very convenient to get to the waterfront and other locations... but there was no view at all from our room. It was not worth the price and I regret not having booked elsewhere. We did opt for valet parking and simply walked across the driveway to our room which was a few steps away...too close for me. They did provide beverages and cookies in the registration area which was refreshing. I replied via email using both their survey and a separate message directly to the Inn's manager but no response to either which I found very surprising. So while it was convenient to get to the waterfront and market area...it was very misleading as to what was offered and the room location was depressing. I was glad to move onto another the next day!

Room Tip: I have no idea what other rooms are like but ours was directly behind the office and adjacent to the...

It is very disappointing to hear that you feel that you were mislead by verbiage or advertisement of the Andrew Pinckney Inn. We in no manner advertise of particular views from our guest rooms no matter the fine location just steps away from Market Street in the heart of the historic district. You certainly do have clear views of the Market from various areas of the inn whether it be the registration lobby, Rooftop Terrace and several premium rooms such as the St Philip Suite. We do have several different room types and obviously two different buildings so perhaps we can assist you with a different room type more suitable to your liking in the future. We hope that you do give us that opportunity so that we can not only meet but exceed your expectations in the future.

I stayed at the Andrew Pinckney Inn for three nights. It was a great stay. First, I stayed in a beautiful room with a spacious bed and two floors. Even though my WiFi was dysfunctional for a day, the gentleman at the front desk was super helpful and even came to my room to personally try to fix it. The only downside to the room was that the walls are very thin. If you happen to have neighbors that talk, you might just happen to hear their entire conversation. The location of the hotel is ideal for staying in historic Charleston. The continental breakfast was also a plus and very enjoyable. I would definitely stay there again when I return to Charleston.
