We could hardly have enjoyed our stay more. The hotel was small enough to feel homey but still comfortably roomy. There is a lovely harbor and waterfront park view from the relaxing lobby and a view of that plus over the city from the rooftop deck. A bit pricey but the amenities were more than what I expected, the location was fantastic and the staff couldn't have been better - room service, valet, front desk, all excellent. We had two small issues but the staff was prompt and efficient in dealing with them and seemed genuinely sorry that we'd had any issues at all.

Food - No restaurant on site but plenty within walking distance. Coffee/tea service set up in the lounge at all times, wine and cheese every afternoon and cookies and milk every evening - all complementary. Breakfast was more plentiful than I expected and there are muffins, pastries, etc. set up in the lounge as well.

Location - We easily walked to the market, restaurants, historic sites, waterfront, etc. We contemplated staying outside of downtown to cut expenses but it was well worth the extra money to stay in the city.

Room - We had a "standard" room which meant no view (unless you count the transformer right behind the hotel) but we were mostly out and about anyway. There were three of us so I worried about being on top of each other but the room was larger than I thought so very comfortable, the bathroom had enough vanity space for three women and my friend wanted to smuggle the bed home in her suitcase because it was so comfortable.

On the way home we were discussing what our favorite part of the trip had been and as much as I enjoyed my entire vacation, I said staying at the Harbourview Inn had been the highlight for me. :) Will definitely recommend to anyone I know going to Charleston.

Thanks for the great time!

Room Tip: If you're on the 1st floor, some of the rooms are directly off the sitting room where they do breakfast and afternoon wine and cheese. While those would be nice for large parties traveling together who like the idea of having a communal space right outside their rooms, for some, it might seem noisy.

We stayed at the Harbourview Inn this week and enjoyed the great location, friendly staff, and large comfortable room. A short walk to any attraction in the historic section of Charleston and just off the harbor and water front park. The view of the water and city from the fourth floor terrace was amazing at sunset. They will bring a nice continental breakfast to your room and have fresh baked cookies at 9-10 pm each night. Somewhat expensive, but a good value for the amenities and location. Would stay here again and can't wait to come back and see more of Charleston.

Three of us travel once a year and this trip was a winner. Thanks to a deal through SniqueAway, we chose a hotel we might have otherwise overlooked. What a loss that would have been! From the moment of our arrival the hotel staff was extremely friendly and thoughtful. The added "bennies" of a continental breakfast, wine & cheese before dinner, and cookies & milk @ the end of the day added to what was already an enjoyable stay. A couple of suggestions, though, are to add exhaust fans to the bathrooms (why is it so many hotels omit this provision?) ... And a power strip so that charging iPads, phones, using hair dryers and curling irons would not be such a challenge! As you can see, though, we had to dig deep for suggested improvements.

The location is convenient to everything in the historic district so we walked -- although also had a car and could explore the nearby islands.

Treat yourself! And thanks from these grateful guests to everyone at Harbourview Inn!

Very pleased with our stay. Excellent staff, very friendly. A little pricey..five star prices for a 4 star room but the breakfast was nice and delivered on time (included in the price).

Parking is a little troublesome but the location is good.

We would stay there again.

Room Tip: Historic section was interesting.

Just back from a leisure trip to Charleston and can't say enough about the Harbourview. An excellent facility in a great location at Waterfront Park. Beautiful views from the hotel and walking distance to many great restaurants and local attractions. The hotel staff are extremely welcoming, gracious and attentive. Based on this experience, I can't imagine staying anywhere else on future visits.
