This is a great hotel! We researched hotels in Charleston before we made the choice to stay at the Harbourview Inn. After reading some of the comments about the valet being too expensive we found that it was actually the cheapest in the area. The customer service was first class and all the employees were very helpful and friendly. Location is perfect, we had a great experience and will definitely stay there again. I highly recommend this hotel.

This is the perfect place to stay if you want to lock up your car and stroll all over the town. Not only is every part of town within walking distance, but there are cigar bars, wine bars, a microbrewery, a great bakery (Baked) and fantastic restaurants (S.N.O.B., Cypress, High Cotton) and the Vendue Inn's rooftop bar, all within blocks. We got a package deal with tickets to the Aquarium(good for kids of all ages), tickets to the Palmetto Carriage Tours (fun, horsedrawn carriage rides out of the big red barn next to the City Market), a $35 gift certificate one of several local restaurants and a big basket of Charleston treats. We had a balcony overlooking the harbor and the Waterfront Park where kids of all ages run in the fountain and a pier with huge swings. The breakfast in the room, the atrium or rooftop was continental (free) , wine and cheese in the evening and cookies and hot drinks in the evening. It is a lovely place with very comfortable rooms and beds. Our only complaints were that in the heat of Charleston, a pool really is mandatory and a bar would be a nice addition. It seems similar to the Vendue Inn which has a small, but excellent restaurant, but it has a better view being on the end of the street next to the harbor and feels more exclusive.

We are very grateful for your comments and feedback. The HarbourView Inn offers many complimentary amenities for guests of all ages, from the m&m’s to the wine & cheese reception. The rooftop terrace is a perfect place to take in views of the harbour and city while enjoying your wine or your breakfast.

My husband and I stayed at Harbour View ~2 years ago on our wedding night. We are locals and wanted to have a weekend getaway to get refreshed before starting school. This time we were really able to leisurely enjoy what the hotel had to offer. We were well taken care of by the bell staff: Will & Joseph showed us where we could keep our bikes and sorted our luggage and valet arrangements. I was super stoked about being greeted with peanut M & M's & refreshments in the lobby. We were also greeted by Bert and Matthew who made sure that we had a room with the beautiful view of the water. They also made recommendations, one which we took --we jumped in the nearby water fountains that the kids were playing in and had a blast!! Sydney served us during the wine and cheese hour and made sure we knew what sorts of cheese we were eating. In the morning Bert and Robert made accommodations so that we could have a later check-out which enabled us to stay downtown for a bit longer. Much appreciated-- wonderful stay!
My favorite highlights: all you can eat peanut butter m & m's, water view room, free wine/cheese & fresh cookie hour, lemongrass aroma therapy scent in the lobby vents, , free breakfast with tasty pastries, friendly staff, and water fountain fun!!

We appreciate when locals come to stay at the HarbourView Inn to get away for a night or two. The HarbourView Inn accommodates visitors from all over the world, and it means a lot to be supported by the local Charlestonians who know the city. We are proud that you returned 2 years later and hope you will continue to choose the HarbourView Inn whenever you need a relaxing getaway.

Sorry I'm late submitting this. Our stay was for three nights over the 4th of July weekend. My wife and I had never been to Charleston, but decided to spend our 30th anniversary there, at the Harbourview, after researching the city and reading numerous reviews of the hotel at tripadvisor and other sites. I wanted a top rated hotel with at least some rooms having a view of the harbor and Harbourview seemed the best choice. It was! From our private penthouse balcony we were treated to a most spectacular fireworks show over the harbor. What a blast! That was the highlight of a great trip to a fun city. I personally want to mention Jason and Robert (staff) for setting things up for us, and especially Drue who brought it all together to make our stay a "one in a lifetime." Tyler (manager) runs a tight ship and should be proud. Everyone always greeted us by name and were very respectful. They made us feel special. Also, (I can't remember her name) the young lady who called in advance and delivered our breakfast every morning was absolutely delightful. Great city...Fantastic hotel!

We are excited that you chose the HarbourView Inn for your anniversary over the holiday weekend. The penthouse rooms definitely have the best view for seeing the fireworks. There is also the rooftop terrace, which has amazing views over the harbour and city. We strive to make all of our guests’ getaways special and we are very proud to hear that you felt we succeeded. Thank you for your kind review.

We visted Charleston, SC for our 30th wedding anniversary. We stayed at the Harbourview Inn after checking out travel guides and internet sites. We could not say enough about our stay. Our room was spacious and overlooked the harbor. From the valet to the front desk personnel - everyone was friendly, helpful and accommodating to our every need - from ice to restaurant reservations. The hotel has valet parking - a big plus in Charleston . We gave the keys to the valet at checkin and never saw the car until checkout. This hotel is centrally located in the historic district. We walked to all the sights and restaurants. We highly recommend the Harbourview when visiting Charleston, SC.
