Stayed at the Barksdale House, before boarding our cruise-ship in Charleston. The location of this B&B can't be beat, as it is between King and Meeting Streets and 6 blocks from the Old City Market. The main house was built in the late 1700's with a more modern building across the B&B parking lot. (Yes, they do have on site parking.) Upon arriving, we were offered iced tea and homemade chocolate cake., One of the female staff offered to carry our bags to our room, which we declined. The room was nicely furnished with a comfortable four poster bed and other nice furniture. The breakfast featured fresh fruits, pastries, cereals, juice, tea and coffee. We enjoyed our experience at the Barksdale so much, we would hope to stay there on a future visit to Charleston.
