Happened to visit for four nights during the very busy Southeastern Wildlife Exposition, so the city and hotels were quite busy. The service by the front desk staff was attentive and personal throughout the stay. The General Manager, Ms. Ridder, is a wonderful professional. There is a very nice wine/cheese/fruit reception in the afternoon, and breakfast (included) is made to order and very good. There is a very popular (and loud) bar on the roof, which can get and stay noisy in the evening.Bikes are available for guest use, and were a great way to see the city and get around very easily. All in all, it was was a very enjoyable experience, and the Inn staff really made it for us.

Room Tip: Annex building rooms across the street were noisy.

October 2010 was my first stay at the Vendue. In Charleston we usually stay at another property, but they had recently remodeled and raised their prices which (thankfully) forced me to look elsewhere. Funny enough, the Vendue was only $40 less, but OMGosh, it's AMAZING!! The property is EXACTLY as pictured, private and exclusive feeling. The rooms are unbelievably romantic. Breakfast is included, you get a choice of two pre-set meals, or you can order a la cart for a nominal charge. They accept pets, so I fully intend to return with our dogs. The associates go out of their way to be friendly and helpful. The location is amazing, you can walk to all the best restaurants. We walked to the pier to take the ferry to Fort Sumter - it's a little over a mile away, but a nice walk.

Our room was in the Vendue Range Annex, which had been a warehouse. We stayed in one of the rooms that was pictured on Hotels.com when I made the reservation. We had a fireplace, soaking/Jacuzzi tub, separate shower, sherry in your room. They serve coffee in the foyer in the morning and cookies in the evening. The hotel was spotlessly clean.

I spent my bday weekend in Charleston, S.C. and stayed at the Vendue Inn located on Eastbay road.
The staff was very helpful with all of my needs. They gave me a bottle of champaigne as a bday gift. Overall, the staff are professional, the rooms and other areas are clean, and in walking distance to everything. I would suggest this Inn to stay at.

My husband and I stayed at the Vendue Inn last weekend 3/25-3/28. We were welcomed warmly and with professionalism. The inn was completely full. We went to our room and realized that it was a bit too small. We contacted the front desk and they quickly moved us to a larger room that was not yet occupied. When we settled into the room, we discovered that we both were having an allergic reaction to something in the room. We again, feeling uncomfortable about being "needy guests", called the front desk. They assured us that there they would take care of everything possible to make our stay comfortable. They reported to my husband later that afternoon that; they had removed all feathered items and replaced them with synthetic items, steamed and cleaned the carpet and wiped down every surface in the room. They went above and beyond since the room was already impeccable. The room was lovely and we soon realized that our allergies could have been due to pollen! Our dining experience was superb! We did not have reservations but did stop at the front desk and were quickly ushered into the dining room and seated at a window table. The hostess did something that has never happened to me - she removed my white linen napkin and returned with a black napkin so as not to create lint on my black dress. This inn went above and beyond in every aspect of service. The front desk management, our attentive server (from Hollywood, FL), and our wonderful housekeeper. Thank you Vendue Inn - for making our stay a pleasant and memorable one we hope to repeat. D & J from Corolla NC

We chose the Vendue Inn for its fantastic location. I was in town for the Cooper River Bridge Run with my parents and had only a short walk to Calhoun Street. Despite an incredibly busy weekend (the concierge mentioned that 40 of the 60 rooms were race-participants) there was never a bump in service. We were greeted at the door and our luggage quickly handled. We received a short tour of the main building area as well as an offer of a glass of wine to take back to our rooms while we settled in. There is a wine reception from 4-5 with a selection of cheeses, fruits, and spread as well as a choice of wines. We never found any areas without staff to assist you. Cookies were provided at 9pm and a hostess for the restaurant kindly got us a cup of tea, as coffeepots are not provided in the rooms. With the race, the hotel provided a special early breakfast for runners but their usual breakfast is done by the Library restaurant and was quite tasty. Robbie the concierge was excellent help with reservations and recommendations throughout our stay. We did opt for the valet service which is an additional $16 a day, but with unlimited ins/outs and they were fast in retrieving our car.

The room (405) itself was excellent. It was in a separate building from the main office, looking over East Bay Street. A King suite, you entered into a narrow hallway that had the bedroom to the left and a sitting room to the right. The sitting room looked out onto East Bay Street. While the television was small as other reviews indicate, how much time are you watching tv anyway? The couch was very comfortable and although the hotel did not have air mattresses or cots provided, we brought our own and they were happy to provide bed linens. There was surprisingly little noise despite being across from a very busy brewery. The king bed in the bedroom was very soft but also elevated, with a stool provided. There is complimentary sherry in each room. The bathroom was large and my only complaints here were that the bathroom fan needed a moment to start and the showerhead could not be adjusted and sprayed outside the shower when opening the door to get in and out. I also marked down on cleanliness because there were a few spots on the tile in the shower.

Overall a fantastic experience with great service.

Once again we had a marvelous stay at the Vendue Inn. Went with neighbors to celebrate our Anniversaries. It was such a great stay we think we will celebrate at the Vendue Inn every year. We ate at the Library and the food was over the top. From arrival to departure the service was excellent. The entire staff made us feel welcome and very special!

4 ladies for a girls weekend.
Great service from the minute we parked the cars-everything was taken to our room and the cars were valet parked in the parking garage for us (as we wouldn't need them for the rest of the weekend.)
They held our keys at the desk for us while we went out for the evenings.
Wine & cheese reception, milk & cookies were super!
Complimentary Breakfast was not a continental buffet, it was made-to-order from a set menu. The choices were amazing.
We really couldn't have asked for a better weekend. I would recommend it for a couple or for girl's weekend!
