Always a good start when the concierge calls you a week before your arrival to find out what he can arrange in the way of restaurant or tour reservations. Otherwise, not much more to add to the many raves already posted about the spacious & immaculate rooms, lavish breakfasts and hit-the-spot afternoon wine/hors d’oeuvres. It's definitely one of the prettiest and best maintained places we've ever stayed in. We easily walked everywhere in the city from here, down to the tip of Charleston and back north - it's totally flat.

Loved everything about the Wentworth -excellent service - every employee epitomized southern hospitality at its finest! Rooms are spacious, immaculate and have all amenities, a lovely fireplace, complimentary stocked mini fridge with beverages, wonderful housekeeping and turn down services! Great location - walk to Kings street! On premises is their restaurant -5 stars for ambience, food and service! Incredible dinners! Dont miss the awesome breakfasts with the sweetest server, Miss Betty!
Only disappointment was the spa. Beautiful location in old horse stable on premise but inexperienced staff and lots of mix ups with appts and services. However Amanda the manager, made a price adjustment as we did not receive the proper services AND sent a beautiful complimentary plate of choc.
covered strawberrys to our room!
The management and concierge services provided are top shelf!
We hope to return in March!

Thank you for taking the time to review your fabulous stay at the Wentworth Mansion. I am thrilled that you had such an exceptional experience. Thank you for noting our Circa 1886 Restaurant. I am glad that you dined here for both breakfast and dinner. Miss Betty is a treasured member of our team - she always leaves a lasting impression. I am sorry to read about the issues you encountered at the spa, but am glad that Amanda resolved the problems. We look forward to hosting you again this spring! Thank you for the recommendation.

This is a beautiful hotel in Charleston, I normally stay at the French Quarter Inn, They were book so I did a Trip Advisor search for a nice hotel in Charleston. What a lucky find. A .little too far to walk downtown but in a nice location. The rooms in the old mansion are very large, and comfortable, not what you might expect in an old mansion. Makes you wonder about the original owner who built such a large and beautiful home. I would strongly recommend this hotel, and did I mention the complimentary breakfast in the dining room, and the well stocked coffee and tea bar in the lobby.

My wife and I stayed at the Mansion for 3 nights for our anniversary and everything was perfect. Our room was beautiful and spacious and the staff treated us like family. The 5pm complimentary wine happy hour was a treat. Breakfast every morning at Circa 1886 was amazing and delicious, Miss Betty is a treasure. We liked that the hotel was several blocks from the main streets because that made it so much more relaxing and special. We would spend all day walking and shopping and then we couldn't wait to get back to the Mansion to unwind. In my mind there is no better hotel in Charleston and we can't wait to go back.

You will find no better place to stay in Charleston. It is magnificent. The history, the rooms, the service and their restaurant are all incredible. Didn't try the spa, but I'm sure it's wonderful. It's a short walk to the shops and restaurants. We had a huge jet tub in an alcove in our room. The breakfasts are so good. Miss Betty will charm you as she sings "Good morning to you" and passes you freshly baked treats. Make sure you have the staff arrange for a private carriage ride which will pick you up at the front door. Plan dinners around the daily wine and cheese hour. We can't wait to go back to visit our family on St. John's Island.

Room Tip: We saw a few of the rooms as we checked out. Each one was lovely. We were on the fourth floor.

My husband and I stayed at the Wenthworth mansion for two nights for our anniversay and our first visit to Charleston. We both agreed that it was by far the nicest hotel either of us had ever stayed in (aside from perhaps the over the water bungalows in the South Pacific - to which it can't fairly be compared). Our room (12) was huge with high ceilings and comfortable furniture and a beautiful bathroom with a large spa tub. It was a lovely stay. The staff was so friendly and the breakfast that comes with the room was excellent. While I think the hotel was pretty full when we stayed there, we rarely saw other people. The only complaint about the hotel was that it was a little off the beaten path. It was in a lovely area, but it was not a super close walk to the tourist areas. It was easy to get a pedicab to just about anywhere we wanted to go and we did enjoy walking....but it is not really centrally located.

I don't know what to really say about this hotel. From the moment my wife and my young son arrived at the Mansion until the day we left, we were treated with the utmost of Southern Hospitality and Charm. The Mansion is nothing short of incredible.. The staff is amazing and attentive, the wine hour with food are top notch and the food at Circa is first class. We also had room service and the food was the very best we had ever had. The wine list is incredible and the Mansion as a whole is First Rate..We are going to be adding the Mansion to our yearly vacation schedule…Don't miss out on this amazing gem while visiting Charleston!!! Oh yea and the Inn Keeper was intimately involved with us and spent time talking to us as she served the guests in the beautiful parlor for the wine hour...

Room Tip: Room #4 the Grand Master Suite!
